nice leg lol, is that foot wearing a slipper. Interesting, but still could be someone hiding behind the bloke in black

oh sure it could, and the little face is more than likely the guys hand with a ring or watch, but if you take the word of the photographer at face value it is still pretty interesting, not to mention creepy.

That site has loads of interesting photos on it to browse if you have time.

That is a good photo..I think the guys hands are behind his back, in that old fashioned pose, so it could be a face...it does still look like one when you zoom in even more.

It looks real, but then it could well be someone really stood behind him, for all we know.

That said, if we take his word there is no-one else there, it is certainly creepy..

That's the main problem, we've only got his word for it, and it's very common for someone to be that preoccupied with taking a picture that they honestly don't see someone in shot who isn't supposed to be there.

Now if one of us had taken that shot in a location where we knew that there weren't any children it would be very interesting indeed.

face actually looks weird, like its a grown adult, not a child. If thats the case, it must be a very small adult

the shoe looks very similar to what the bloke is wearing, and posistioning also fits in with the bloke who its behind, i would probably say either the bloke moved his leg as image was taken, creating an extra limb effect, or something went wrong during deveopment.

my dad used to be a professional photographer before digital cameras came out, we used to see things very similar to this, caused by errors in the developing stage, but the errors where not on the negative. in this case though its rather difficult to know. the other thing we also noticed was if someone moved, because of the fact slr cameras were instant u never saw the blur from the movement but an invisible double image was on the negative, which was picked out during developing although that was a rare occurance.

Not sure I agree with that in this case (although the theory is sound), as the shoes are similar but different in the sole.

That's the good thing about old photos is that they at least have negatives to examine, but as you say, without actually seeing it for yourself it really just boils down to hearsay.

Well this photo is very interesting, it could possible be an optical illusion as a user on that link called BillyMcCoy. His theory is,

"Just before the photo is taken the lady on the right asks her husband to hold her shawl so that it doesn’t hide her new dress. Being a gent, he holds it behind his back out of the way. Note the gloves; a shawl would coordinate nicely with those.
Then there is the face…until I saw a face I saw a wrist with a watch strap. The majority of people wear a watch on their left hand though, so lets move the arm a little further up, could this be the man’s right hand with a ring on the first finger?"

its a possible explanation, i don't think its a dwarf or a child behind the guy as the position of the leg to the tiny part of the head poking out can't look possible in my opinion.

Am I right in thinking that it might be a result of a double exposure or something? The end of the guys trousers match up with the a line in the 'spectral' foot. Regardless of whether it is or not it's a very creepy photo. It reminds me of those old cigarette cards you could get many years ago - the ones with paranormal photos - disembodied hands from behind benches and whatnot.

It could be, but you usually get a bit of transparency. I think the other 'foot' is more likely to be something the gentleman is holding behind his back such as the ladies shawl.

A great example of Occam's razor if that is the case. It fascinates me how easy to see a human face in an inanimate object.

We've had some fun with Occam's razor on here in the past I can tell you.

Paeridolia is rife in the paranormal. Not just with the general public, but with 'investigators' who should really know better.

:D

It's seems as if everyone is that keen to get some 'proof' that they're willing to accept any old dodgy photo or crappy recording.

As you can probably tell, I'm a bit fed up with this type of behaviour from certain quarters of late and as of next week I'm going to highlight a few things.

I am not familiar with cigarette cards. Please I need some article about this cards. I hope you will provide this to me.
