Hi triplow that sounds like a very interesting place indeed, I found this site on google with a pic of the cottage supposedly, here is the link for people to have a look at http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/209674 and here is another closer pic http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/764163.

there's been many reports of people hearing horses galloping along the road nearby. along with other audio, scratching, banging and a urben legend that if the spirits of the cottage are called up people go missing (nothing recorded though) one story that drew me to this was an account from a friend.

when the girl in question and a former boyfriend visited with some friends, he felt odd when entering a certain room, he then complained he couldn't breath and ended up collapsing, it was so bad they dragged him away from the place and called an ambulence. however after being away from the cottage for a bit, he felt fine.

i interviewed the guy and he wasn't under the influence at the time or in ill health. the paramedics had no explaination for what he had experienced.

i think it's certainly worth an invo

Any update on this place Triplow, do you have to get permission to go there, is it on private property.

lol

Here's a quote from another website......

“Kielder – Bloodybush Road – in the remote area of Kielder lies the lonely Willowbog Cottage, so old it is, in fact, mentioned in the Doomsday Book. From then on to the present day, every bridge ever built there, be it stone, metal or wood, has never stood for over a decade. They have all at one point been found completely demolished over night or had to be destroyed due to unexplained bloodstains that cover every inch of it. On certain nights the galloping of hooves has been heard from the nearby Willowbog Cottage (which itself is 20 miles from anywhere).

As far as i'm aware there isn't really anyone you can contact to go, and with it being 20 miles from anywhere i don't think you'll be interrupted. I know we're planning on camping there, it does appear to be national/woodland park area, but who would you contact???

For anyone who's interested, bring up google maps and copy and paste these co-ordinates 55.198515, -2.636801 then zoom in, if you select the satellite option that will show you Willowbog Cottage and the surrounding area. Looks like there's loads of room for tents etc, don't think you'll get a car over that dodgy bridge there like......

Yeah Pam that's a great idea, i find it's always best to get permissin......

Claire did you try the co-ordinates i posted earlier on a google map, you can see the bridge, you have to cross it on foot from where you'd have to leave your car, it's just to the left of the cottage. :D
