When using ouija, pendulums or listening to the words of mediums on investigations, Why is it so many spirits seem to want people to 'get out'?

Probably because we're in their territory uninvited. These people used to be alive too, and what investigators do would be equivalent to still being alive and just having a bunch of uninvited guests appearing on your property that you didn't ask for.

But they're not alive any more, so why are they hanging around if they don't like people?

Sometimes it's said that 'Ghosts' don't know they're dead. This I find a bit hard to believe as I can't believe you lose all you intelligence when you pop your clogs. If I found that I suddenly became invisible and couldn't communicate with people in the normal manner, it would be the first think that I would think had happened to me.

Maybe ghosts are all cynics who refuse to believe that they can possibly still have a consciousness after death.

One thing you're missing though is that they don't have these physical things any more known as a "brain" when you're dead, which, at any second of the day, these makes hundreds of thousands, of not millions of calculations in regards to doing the simplest of things.

Likewise, and as the theory goes with E. V. P., spirits have to use energy in order to communicate, which is usually why a lot of E. V. P.s don't make sense because you're just catching parts of conversation taken out of context and there is usually a lull in between asking questions and getting responses, since you have to wait for most entities to produce enough energy to be able to respond again. This usually takes longer without a brain to move the mouth and vocal chords and all, if the person were still alive to do so (not taking into account actual strong entities that can churn out answers quicker than others, without having to wait 5-45 seconds per question to get answers).

Good point! Tho have to say that potentially the character of a person doesn't change just because they die....a curmudgeonly complainer isnt suddenly going to become a ray of sunshine.

The other arguement is that such statements are expected to come from ouija boards (demonstrated by this topic), and if ouija is a pure product of the ideomotor effect, then it would be a surprise if such statements didn't appear.

For commercial groups, such statements also add a sense of alarm to the proceedings, so adds to the entertainment.

Why is why there are entertainment ghost hunt groups and the more seasoned professional intelligent intuitive scholarly groups like erm..hmmm we like us?
