Does anyone have a record of haunted locations in teesside.

Besides the main ones:
Teesside Airport.....ooops silly me Durham Tees valley
Thornaby snooker club
And manhattens

There must be an awful lot more, its not something I have been able to find. I did buy a book claled Haunted Middlebrough, but to be honest it was more annecdotal than anything else.

I've been trying to find out likely leads, such as Aircraft crashes from Thornaby Airfield, there's s'posed to be a street in boor with 2 missing house because a bomber crashed into the house during WW2, when it was on approach to thornaby.

I know Teesside did not suffer too much during the war (probably because ICI was German owned!!!!) and pre mid 1800's there was not much around teesside.

There is an interesting article in haunted Middlesbrough regarding an horrific entity guarding the Salt pans at Billingham, but much of this area now is former ICI land and inaccessible.

Surely though in recent times, areas such as Billinghamhas had its share of Murders etc, you would think there was a good case for a damned good haunting.

To be honest - dunno if its just me and where I'm looking - but barring the places you've mentioned there, I know of barely any others .. they are probably out there but just don't get the attention ..

I own a small booklet called 'Supernatural Cleveland' that was printed about 10 years ago. You may be able to track down a copy on ebay etc. It lists quite a few haunted locations around the Teesside area although, like Haunted Middlesbrough, it is also a bit annecdotal.

Here's a link to the book on Amazon if you are interested:

Also this book by Tony Liddell of OtherWorld North East has a few Teesside locations in it.

There are a lot of "So called Haunted" places in the north east. But must of it is word by mouth and where people have read on other websites were people have been. You hear people say "mainly believers" "oo go here its great best one ive ever been to" So you go and you come out thinking "How wrong can a person be". Personally Id love to Investigate places which is not just word by mouth but where Actual Activity has been caught and not tampered with or anything. Too many of these places now get swarmed by teams over and over again i.e The neam, Castle keep and the schooner and personally i dont think much of these places.

This is why so many people would rather do it alone or a small number of people than bigger teams. I know a few smaller teams even with 2-3 in and they go to great places as there is less of them. And these team actually go into these places in advance and set equipment up and see if they capture anytthing, speak to people who Think they have seen anything then decide if its worth investigating than just going to many old place because so many people said its haunted!!!!

I was thinking of sites of historic interest.

Such as the saxon grave yard at Norton, the ecology park where the old mill used to be.

john whitehead park in billingham, scene of a murder in the early 80's.

places that are kind of unusual, even private houses, I heard of a haunting of a large black cat in a house in billingham, apparently witnessed by police officers......could be a bit of a joke or could be serious.

Oxbridge graveyard in Stockon is said to be haunted by the figure of a man with a dog according to Supernatural Cleveland.

There is a number of haunted locations in Cleveland.

I used to know a girl who lived in Redcar, who said that she once saw a " ghost of what looked like a clown " in the Ladies toilet at The Clarendon Hotel. She said that she shit herself. Not surprising, really.

I think the Hangers in Thornaby would have been a good location, but they have been knocked down now. Billingham Synthonia club is supposed to be haunted by a Monk, don't ask why a monk. I don't know what the connection is there, I just read it on another site.

I used to work at the old MOD site in Eaglescliff, That was one creepy place, especially the main office block, it gave me shivers everytime I went in there, And I was always seeing things out of the corner of my eye.

There are a few places mentioned here:

http://www.teessideonline.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=514

There are a lot of historic churches around and I'm sure some of those have tales to tell. Not to mention Mount Grace Priory.

Not sure this really helps, but there you go. lol
