Hi Martin, glad you found us.

We're a friendly bunch on here who love to talk about all things paranormal, so I hope you stick around to chat.

It's a bit quiet at the moment though. I think everyone's out enjoying the sunny weather.

typical.

Feel free to resurrect any thread on here that you like or start a new one. It's always good to have someone new to talk to about their opinions on all this ghostly malarky.

There's some great stuff on that site. Not necessarily paranormal but very interesting.

Yeah, however I think the vast majority of 'paranormal' photos out there are just misinterpretations of natural thing rather than fakes. A site like the one you gave a link to is a good way of learning to spot theses things.

Hello AprilButterfly.

To be honest, i have never been on a ghost hunt before. Me and my mate have spent a few hours in a grave yard one night and that's about it lol.

I have been to a few apparently haunted places such as, Warkworth Castle, Chillingham Castle, Edlingham Castle.

I have been to the Schooner Hotel a few months back, just popped in to have a few drinks and watch a football match lol, i never stayed the night there although the bar staff told me a few story's about the place. The men's toilets i went into was very creepy, felt as if there was someone in the room with me. i did hear a strange banging sound coming from the room above but i just brushed it off and didn't think much after that.

The Schooner was my very first investigation with NGI and it was to prove to be the night of the now legendary 'dancing wardrobe' incident, which was witnessed by at least five people.

Chillingham is a great pace too. We didn't get much in the way of 'activity' but it didn't really matter in such a grand place.

sounds interesting 'dancing wardrobe', so was it poltergeist activity or something?

Well to be fair I only 'heard' it as I was in the next room. I also heard everyones reactions to it.

Jay was there to witness it first hand so he'll be able to fill you in about it. I think they heard a 'grow' in the room prior to the wardrobe moving too if my memory serves me right.

Ahhh .. the wardrobe ..

We'd (about 6 of us) heard the Schooner Growl in the room to begin with .. first time I'd heard it (and didn't know about it beforehand) .. sounds just like a dog and was situated "Mid Air" in between 2 people ..

If that didn't get us going enough - there was suddenly a banging from Wardrobe in the corner of the room - almost like somebody slapping their hands along the side of it - which lasted about 10 seconds. The Wardrobe then tilted forward about 6 inches before slamming back onto its short back legs and hitting the wall (which will be what Dok heard in the next room). It then obviously rocked back and forth until it settled.

The Growl was heard again in the room a few seconds later and then once more the wardrobe tilted forward and slammed back into the wall, more vigorously this time, and rocked back and forth. Finally, the "slapping hands" against the wardrobe (this time against the top and louder) capped off a great few minutes.

Half a dozen or so direct witnesses (none of them near the wardrobe) and however many indirect witnesses in the room with Dok who just heard the noise when the wardrobe slammed against the wall.

A good moment indeed!

very interesting, this growl you guys heard, you say it sounded like a dog?. This is what i don't get, why would a ghost dog move a wardrobe? definitely poltergeist activity.

I remember a most haunted episode on The Schooner, some staff who worked there claimed to see this huge black figure slam against the fire door, they thought someone had gotten into the building but when they realized no one had. strange stuff.

Well, theres nothing to suggest that the "growl" and the "wardrobe" were linked - other than circumstanially. There had been talk from a medium in the minutes leading up to these events of a "black human-like figure" present in the room with us but obviously, this was something only she could see. Maybe the "dog" follows the "black figure" around?

I heard the growl again the last time we visited the Schooner, up on one of the corridors (outside room 17?). There was myself, an ex-NGIer and few members of the public who all heard it - plus, one of the doors kept locking and unlocking itself.
