Hi guys, just wanted to say hello! I've had a long-term interest in the paranormal (specifically ghosts etc) and am chairman of Otherworld North East Research Society.

Looking forward to having a mooch around the site! :D

Hi Tony. I believe I interviewed you many years ago for my magazine - Unscene.
I have your book too. Great stuff!

Hope you stick around to chat.

Hi there, aye I remember that: hows the magazine doing?

That first book makes me cringe a little looking on it now: technically I've learned so much over the last 7 years since it was published that some parts of it make my toes curl

The mag is just something I do in my spare time but has come on leaps and bounds. We have a free CD with every issue now too. Just starting work on issue 10 at the moment.

As far as your book goes, I found it to be one of the best 'local' books produced around that time. You're bound to cringe at some of the things in it as it's always a learning curve. There's tons of stuff on the NGI site that makes me cringe too and lots of stuff from members long gone, but It's where you are at the moment that matters.

Hope you are not put off to our talk or 'Mediums' and 'Ouija Boards' as I know you stick to the more objective side of things. We do love a good debate on here.

Not at all: I'm as fascinated with the idea of mediumship as anyone. We had a good discussion running on my site ages ago surrounding the value of a medium on an investigation, and in the end it got a tad heated
We've even got a project running asking for mediums to come forward and be tested - no takers in two years though 8)

We've had a few heated debates on here too regarding 'mediums' I can tell you, but that what its all about. The problem usually arrises when one side claims that they have all the answers, when in actually fact I don't think any of us know what is really going on. Oh the Joys of the Paranormal.

The issues come when someone, without being an authority on the subject, claims with all the authority they can muster : ALL mediums are fake 'n crap like - I read it on the back of a Cornflakes box.

and also when Mediums get uppity when people don't blindly take their word for things.

Fortunately NGI has very chilled out mediums who question themselves as much as we do.

theres also our no nonsense approach ;)

I was looking a some local books in WHSMIT in t'metro centre the other day, think yours were among them Tony.

I used to post on OWNE but sometimes it felt a bit difficult getting in there if you were unknown. Some fascinating stuff there though.

Welcome to our little corner :)

Yup, embarrassing is as it is to say I will always say if I feel there is nothing in the area....sometimes a little tricky on a guest night but much prefer to be honest. Cant stand mediums and psychics who just fill dead space with the usual waffle.
Tho in truth I tend towards the physical mediumship rather than the clairvoyance/clairaudiant.
