This is a really creepy photo and I only saw it myself around five years ago.

I know there's tons of controversy and falsehoods around Amityville, but I still believe that some strange things did go on in the house, even if they didn't resemble what was depicted in the book and film.

The thing I find suspicious about this photo though, is that I believe it wasn't presented to the public as 'evidence' until the first film was due out and George and Kathy Lutz were doing a publicity tour.

I really don't know. I hope it's not a real boy, but it do feel that it is more likely.

I listened to a podcast that had one of the Lutz children talking about his time in the house in a rare interview. He still maintained that the house was haunted although he dismissed the book and films.

i hope the photo aint a real kid either.

Interesting, where is this podcast? also i heard the current owners of the house have said nothing has happened there since they have lived there

Either they are just saying that so they don't attract attention or activity has stopped...or nothing has ever happened.

I'll try and find you the link.

Yeah I believe the current owners have experienced nothing out of the ordinary.

Oh absolutely. A lot of poltergeist activity usually stops completely in a couple of weeks and there are tons of locations that have long had history of hauntings but nothing reported in recent years.

Here a link to that show.

Well it wasn't anything major, just some low level stuff.

I've talked about it a few ties on here. Here's the link to the relevant thread.

I'm not much of a believer in the amityville ghost story. The Lutz's testimony is a little bit floored in places and the people living there now report no strange behavior.

I think it was a scheme to get out of a house they could ill afford.

are you basing the Lutz's testimony in what you read in the book or from the horses mouth as it were?

well i listened to that podcast, the guy seems really angry what has been told in the books & movies as true events when he says there not. shame in doesn't go into detail to what is fake and what is real.

Here's the thing thats bothered me about the DeFao murders, how the hell did nobody in the street hear the gun shots? and also why did it look like there was no struggle? surly someone in the family would have heard the shots.

Another thing...why were all the killed family members lying face down on the beds?

I believe poltagiests can stop the activity, maybe by change of house owner, maybe by a vicar blessing the place. I believe the activity can stop quicker then it began

I don't buy into the whole vicar blessing malarky to be honest. It may very well make the homeowners happier if they are that way inclined, but on a practical level I just can't see it.

There could many reasons such as:

A) There was no activity there to begin with
B) It just ran its natural course
C) If poltergeist phenomena comes from within the human body, maybe the bodily conditions changed, such as being less stressed since leaving the property.

With Amityville Vicars weren't much cop, the same with the Enfield Poltergeist.

Well George lutz himself admitted the book is "mostly true"

They couldnt have found the hoof print in the snow, as it didnt snow during the time of the "seige"

The police were never called to the house

and the subsequent owners stated the door hinges etc that were supposedly ripped fro the frames were all original to the house......bit hard to comprehend the door frames and doors being ripped out yet retaining the original hinges??????

Ed and Lorraine warren were involved

and inst there a small matter of George lutz being criticized over his motives by his stepsons?

Like I said, given the complete lack of ANY evidence, I believe it to be a hoax. A good story but not true.
