Here's a good collection of photos that explain most alleged paranormal pics.

You find some 'real spirit orbs' and post them here, but you'll have to say what makes them different from all the 'dust' out there. I've never seen a 'orb' photo to date which I would say was likely to be paranormal, but I'd love to.

I'm not really sure. If there was a definite intelligent response from an 'orb' on video it would be a start I suppose.

Although not as common, 'coloured orbs' are just the same as regular ones. As detailed on the 'Orb Zone' website, every orb has a 'pattern', caused by minor imperfections in the lens. One common type is a concentric rings. When the distance between such rings (or other pattern elements) is similar to the resolution of the camera, Moiré patterns result. These give an orb false colours.

Another factor which can cause orb colouring is refraction. When orbs are caused by, say, water droplets, colour can be refracted through.

arrggh orbs again  :x

orbs are dust /reflections / debris full stop if orbs were paranormal they would have been picked up as often as they are now, using slr cameras, but nope it only seems to be digital cameras that get orbs, and normally its just the garbage compacts rather than the more expensive brigde or dslr

explain that one :P :P unless digital cameras have some magic ghost detecting capability

i wont go any further into it lol theres a few discriptions on here and explains on orbzone why digital cameras pick up orbs :D

'Orbs' are indeed a phenomena which refuse to go away no matter how much evidence is brought to the table to say otherwise.

Why do you think that is?

Personally I think that it's by far the easiest kind of 'evidence' that anyone can capture, and everyone likes to think they've caught their very own bit of paranormal proof. I think people have put so much store in 'orbs' in recent years then it's quite hard for people to hold their hands up and say 'hey, I was wrong'.

I can remember when the phenomena first started being popularised and I believed them to be possibly paranormal, but now my view has changed. I wouldn't say that the entire light anomaly thing has been explained away just yet, but the compact digi camera orb pics have been dead in the water for years.

We've probably all been infected at some point by the orb debate, and they are all explainable as said above. That said, in our rush to dismiss them all, are we in danger of missing evidence. Who knows, maybe the future will tell? However, putting my rational head back on, they are all explainable..

All I would say, is that we must not forget there have been photos taken that contain orbs or other light anomalies well before digital cameras came along. They may be few and far between, but they are out there. They are often far more interesting. Probably no more evidential, but harder to explain away on an individual basis than the current orb photo is.

yeah there has been a few pics of orbs on slr cameras but again most can still be explained some way or another, but on orbzone for example or another site like it i cant remember they did tests with a slr and digital in the same location pics taken at same time the digital image was full of orbs the slr image had nothing. although like u say they has been instances of orbs its been rare to the point that most people would say the orb theory started with digital cameras
