Lets start posting some of the more famous 'ghost' photos here and give out personal opinions on them. I realise you can't tell anything for certain from a photo but just go with your gut reaction to it. I'll get the ball rolling with this one.

This photo was shot in 1963 by Reverend Lord in Newby Church, Yorkshire, England. Lord claims there was nothing visible to the naked eye immediately prior to shooting the photo. Comments please?

That's probably because he added it in afterwards..?

Looks very fake to me.

It was apparently analised years ago and 'no evidence of trickery' was found, but I'm not really sure what you can make of that claim. I agree it does look very 'fake/posed' and the figure seems to be out of proportion. It was one of my favourite pics as a child though and just looking at it used to fill me with dread.

Ok, how about possible the most famous ghost photo of all, The Brown Lady of Raynham Hall. I still think it holds up pretty well today.

The Brown Lady is a much more impressive ghostly picture.

I just think the Newby church picture looks like someone has a white sheet over their head with a couple of eyeholes, and a monks habit for good measure. Still scary when you are young though!

yea they do look good, but these days anyone could plant another image into the actual picture (which is a shame.) Too much fakery going around. First picture, shame it wasn't just a hooded head, that would of been more realistic then the weird white hairy face I see. Second one I have seen many times before and think that is a good one...

Maybe your in the same site as me with this one Doc ;)

Church Minister GhostAccording to Brad Steiger's Real Ghosts, restless spirits and haunted places, where this photo was found, there was only one other photographer in the church beside the person who took this picture. Neither of them recalled seeing ghost or any flesh-and-blood person standing there who could account for this image. Because the figure is all in black, it has been theorized that the apparition could be that of the churuch minister.

I've seen this photo before and think it's great. Of course it could be as simple of someone walking in and out of shot with the camera set on a long exposure... but then again.
Great image never the less.
