Here is the photo that Sam was telling us about at the weekend. It was taken by her at Trinity Church in York. The first pic shows a 'before' shot and the second shows what appears to be a figure in the doorway of the church. An enlargement is also shown below that. What does everyone think?

Because they are taken at slightly different angles its hard to compare.
Personally I think its just a case of shadow/pattern in the door wood.

I also think the falling snow lends itself to misinformation.

Maybe Anth, but as you can see from this pic of the doorway, the door would out of shot at the left hand size of the opening if the door was open which it is.

The 'ghostly image' would therefore be have to be on the stonework on the right hand side of the entrance. Part of it seems to obscure the sign on the wall of the entrance so I don't think it is something on the wall. My best guess is it is an optical effect brought on by the snow fall, however the 'shadows' in the figure do seem to be at a different angel to the falling snow so I don't know.

Hmmm I just zoomed in on the "figure" and its seems awfully wide in relationship to the doorway, fairly tall too.

I could, if I used my imagination, say it looks like a priest/vicar in their fancy smocks. What is evident is that its between the inside of the church and the falling snow near the camera. Which would mean trickery would be very difficult.

Would like to see the EXIF data for the photo to see what the shutter speed is on the camera etc

Well you may get a chance to meet the lady in question before too long.

Its certainly an oddity, I asked the guys at work and they were intrigued.

What worries me about the image is that theres evidence of someone recently walking into the church (see footprints). Whilst I am interested in the paranormal, I will always go for the more logical explanation and on the evidence of the posted image I'd say its not paranormal, however, once I have seent he EXIF data of the original picture, I am prepared to re-evaluate my oppinion.

Yeah that's the area. There are a set of around 5 photos taken inside the church in the same sequence and don't show anyone else in any of them. That doesn't mean there wasn't someone just out of shot though. I'll try and get Sam to come on the forum and answer your questions.

I've had a go at making the 'figure' a bit clearer but the snow is really playing havoc with things.
