Hi, It does look like the profile of a little Scotty Dog but I rather think it's pareidolia in the smoke/mist/cold breath. What about everyone else?

deffo nothing like that, i took over 100 photos of that area and i think angie took quite a few aswell, after that photo was taken by a customer and could not find a cause, not breath and was no fog about anywhere, just could not replicate it and im not exactly an beginner with the camera.

ive also done extensive enhancing of the photo, and found by upping the contrast by quite a bit you can actually see the shape of what we thought to be a dog

also looks a bit like one of the aliens from the alien movies lol

you all know im quite a bit of a skeptic and will go to any length to proove something is not paranormal but with this i just could not. and i literally tried everything i could think of, it actually got me quite excited lol and it takes a lot paranormal wise to do that

How can you be sure that is wasn't breath or a whisp of fog though?
If it was inside then it would be more compelling, but you were outside, on the coast in the middle of the night in the north east of England.

It's certainly an interesting photo. Not sure what it is, and it does look a bit like Snowy the dog from Tintin...! I think if you asked a seasoned sceptic, they would say given that it is by the sea, it is most likely some form of mist giving the illusion of a dog, so a form of pareidolia.

All that said, you have to be there on the night to know how evidential it is, and gain soome context, and given that other photos were taken that had no mist, it does make it standout more, so I can understand it being exciting.

But as standalone objective evidence, it is more likely explainable as mist of some kind I think.

I agree, actually being there on the night would make a big difference. I just can't help thinking about all the variables such as being a guest night, being outside etc.
I think the mist would behave similar to dust/moisture orbs. It would have to be just the right distance from the flash and just the right angle to show up. That would possibly account for it not being on the other ones.

I do like the pic though.

considering that it was a warm night and breath wasnt visible and considering over 100 other shots that i took of same location didnt show any breath or fog or mist i would say its something odd, now dont get me wrong it may not be anything it may just be what u say but its the only photo from the night that shows any form of mist including photos from other customers and group members.

the right angle thing is a possiblity but again with the mount of shots i took i would of thought i might at least catch summin similar

and another thing the customer was doing a lone thing outside so wasnt contamination from a big group of people

i understand the breath thing as another location i did had massive contamination from breath but it was easily replicated and soon discounted, what im trying to say is i could not replicate this, i took over 400 photos of the night in general including the 100 or so from that location and none showed anything like it.

im not one to jump and say ooo yeah its a ghostie, to be honest id rather not id rather say it is mist, but with this one im puzzled when its enhanced it looks even more like a dog but again it could be anything

ps. i aint trying to cause an argument lol.

Of course your not trying to cause an argument, after all you were there on the night, and you know what you did to try and replicate it.

It is frustrating when people dismiss a photo as simply mist or smoke, but as they weren't there, this is the most obvious explanation as has at least to be expressed. If what you say is accurate, then it is a strange one.

I would say that it is therefore an 'unexplained mist', but I think just because it looks a bit like a dog, it's a bit of a leap to presume that it is a ghost one. Not that you were.

Was a great night at Souter lighthouse with Something Paranormal ;) I was in a different group then the girl who took the picture, and it was outside where we heard a dog barking (we could of been in the fog horn building too) earier that night, it is coinsidental that the other group caught this picture :)
