We went on a little ghost hunt the three of us one night and visited a graveyard in Redmarshal. I took a picture of the bench, as soon as Carmen spoke to the spirit lady she vanished. Carmen spooked a spook lol

I must admit to quit liking these pics. They are better than your usual 'mysterious mist' kind of shots where they are most certainly cold breath or cigarette smoke blowing into shot. The 'mist' here does seemed contained in the shot instead of blowing in from the side and does indeed look like it is further away from the camera on the bench. This combined with the fact that Carmen could sense a presence on the bench makes it even more interesting.

what I find interesting in this pic is the right hand strand of mist, as it cross the front of the bench looks like it pixelates.
I noticed also that the orb from chillingham has a similar effect.

I've not seen this on a still image before, its kind of like the effect you used to get on movies using the blue backgrounds to create effects.

In some ways it confirms to me that there is indeed something happening in the picture that the camera is trying to make sense of.

It's probable just a quirk of the camera. Easy to test if AprilButterfly uploaded another pic with no 'paranormal connection' and see if it still does it.

actually I think it may be because they are Gifs rather than Jpegs.

I notice the picel too in the shots and have no idea how that would happen, it has only happened in this forum with both pics. Maybe I need a new camera. I know for one thing though and I did not edit the pics in any way. Just wish I could see spirit like Carmen, I guess we all work in different ways, I should be greatful for what I have

We might be going back to that cottage where I found the mist, so I might have to take more pics at night. And I can guarentee there was no smokers in that cottage unless the dog has picked the habbit up.

I think your camera is probably fine. I think it's to do with the facts that the images have been saved as gifs as I believe that this compresses the file size by limiting the amount of colours used in the imaged. This would explain the strange effect.
