This was taken on a camera phone last year, It might just be me but I can see what looks like a womans face screaming, you have to zoom in to get a good look, hopefully other people can see it as well so I know i'm not going mad.

Thanks for the post. I can form the trees into the image of a 'screaming face' if I really try. Even so, the human brain makes us see stuff like this all the time (pareidolia) which is almost certainly the explanation rather than a paranormal one.

After saying that, I really like looking at examples of pareidolia in photos.

Got to be diplomatic about it... thanks for the pic and I can see what you are saying now but I couldn't before. If I'm looking at the photo again I can see several faces in the trees made out of the digital artefacts and leaves with branches. It's interesting that when given a photo and told that there's a face on it that the human mind can pick out all kinds of them.

One theory is that because we see faces all day everyday, as facial expressions are one of the most obvious ways that we communicate with each other, they end up being the images we're more likely to form from random shapes. You should be glad you saw a face Bondi, if you saw a killer clown on a pogo stick juggling chainsaws you'd probably need therapy. :D

I don't think there's anything paranormal on the photo, got to be honest but thanks for the pic and keep around cos there'll be plenty more photo's turning up for you to look at and I'm looking forward to seeing the other photos you mentioned earlier.

Yeah, I often feel bad when people take the time to send pics to paranormal sites only to have people jump all over them saying that they are not remotely paranormal.

At the end of the day, it just boils down to peoples opinions most of the time. One thing it does do is create debate and that can only be a good thing so thanks for posting it and please send any more if you have them.

spent ages looking at this, all I see is trees.

things I would have to ask is, why would a face appear? and why would it appear so large?

I have yet to see a pic that convinces me that theres something paranormal in it. Thats not to say there are no good pictures out there. Some of them are great, perhaps I just see them differently?

Here's one of my favourite images of this kind. A lovely dancing 'tree spirit'.

The sculptor David Nash grows tress in to strange shapes too. So it can be a created effect if you know anything about Tree surgery.

hehe your right Anth, It does look rather large for a face but I have blown it up quite a bit, I think everyone sees things differently, but you guys know what your looking for i'm just someone who gets all excited if I think I see something unusual, and I think this has been the case (to my dissapointment of course  ) hey doktor I love that pic also : )

I also still get excited when I think I see something unusual, then I calm down and try to rationalise it (if I can). To tell you the truth we're not experts at photographic analysis, but we do get sent tons and tons of pics. There more you look at, the easier these kind of things are to spot, but it is really hard to come to and definitive conclusions.

especially with digital techniques and cg these days. Remember the Mexican UFO flap a few years back. They were all created by a computer games company and filmed from their roof. It didn't take long for the public to even claim that they'd witnessed the objects themselves.

I've seen so much dodgy CG when I was teaching animation at Teesside University I'm amazed that half of it fools people. But then judging by poor quality of digital compositing in the majority of CG in films these days it doesn't suprise me that the public doesn't have a good eye for it. Even some of the stuff in the last 3 Star Wars films were ropey to say the least and that version of the lion, the witch and the wardrobe that came out recently was terrible.

Unfortunately a lot of that stuff is fine in cinema because of the projection methods but once it's transferred to DVD or for the TV it looks completely flat and computer generated. I was watching Superman 2 on the tv yesterday afternoon and was stunned by how much better their effects were than the majority of stuff you see today and their techniques were so limited compared to todays.

Basically don't trust anything you see on TV. The US government even claimed themselves on the news that they were using digital techniques to create Osama Bin Laden propaganda when they first went into Afghanistan. It's no wonder he gets younger and older and his voice keeps changing with every piece of video footage that's released. The guys probably been dead for years.

A mate of mine was involved in a TV programme made by 4:2:2 in Bristo la few years back ( same guys that made the talking leopard in the schweppes commercials). It was about the last few days of Marilyn Monroes life. He was making cg models of her face that were then being composited onto an actresses face. The results were spectacular. Unfortunately they didn't win the bid and another company got it. It just makes you realise how many people out there are doing this stuff... and if they're bored and have free time... guess what they do... it's their business to hoax stuff legitimately, they ain't going to care about the David Ickes of this world.

Here are those pics that we got from that guys phone last week. The first four are untouched and the fifth one has been enlarged and tweaked slightly.

To be honest they looked a lot more impressive on his phone. It looks to me like the 'faces' are just some objects such as bags on top of the cabinet through the door. What does everyone else think?

Theres definitely something on them. Could just be another simulacrum effect.

They did look better on his phone. I'll take the last one before it was enlarged and jig about with it in photoshop to see if I can get some detail out of it. If they are objects on top of the wardrobe needless to say they would be on every photo.

The bloke who gave us them said that one of them looked like the face nearest to the door was bearing his teeth at him after he called it an 'ugly bastard'. I'm not sure how clear those teeth are now that we have them full size.

here they are despeckled, its just a photoshop filter which takes some of the digital artefacts out and balances the pixels. Obviously it's an effect applied to the image so it may cause more problems depending upon your viewpoint. I applied it just to see if we could enhance the image.
I'm going to try a few things with the photos to see what I can get out of them. I'll do the same processes to bo the theoriginal and the unspeckled images. At least then we can compare them.

The final thing that I'll do is do a composite of all of the photos that we have to see if we can get detail out of them. I saw a guy do this on TV with a some frames from some ufo footage. When he was finished it took some of the motion blur out and ended up being obvios that it was a light air craft.

We'll see what we end up with in a few hours.
