Spirit rescue - a good or a bad thing?
Do mediums provide genuine help for trapped souls?
Are they forcing their own beliefs onto onto souls that may not share them?
or are they preventing further paranormal study be 'clearing' locations?

I've never bought into that idea .. A ghost has been "trapped" in a location for centuries and then decides to bugger off when someone tells them to "follow the light" .. I don't buy it.

me neither. It always seems far too easy as well.

I have attended 2 locations where the medium has cleansed a house. First one (which I did get a voice on dictaphone) was starting to frighten the children. The couple worked on a oujie board after a few glasses of wine and didn't think anything of it at the time, but then the youngest child kept on seeing an old lady which didn't seem a nice lady, the child thought that this old lady did not like children and would frighten her at night. When the Medium cleansed the house and shut of the port hole (which was opened due to oujie board) the couple and the children feel comfortable now and safe. They all go back to their own beds again at night and not sleep downstairs anymore.

Sometimes it can be good thing to get rid of the bad energy (if needed) sometimes spirit are best to be left alone.

Yeah, you're correct. I was being a tad flippant. I agree that in some cases when people are scared in their own homes that a house cleansing can put their mind at rest, whether it is a genuine case of getting rid of bad spirits/energy or a placebo effect.

I just get a bit fed up when 'mediums' seem to find trapped souls everywhere and go through the usual drama time after time. I've seen it too often.

Although I don't follow the spiritualist beliefs as much as Angie I agree that removing distressing spirits is a given. I think that genuinely upset and confused entities deserve respect and help......but not sure I am the person to give it. Much prefer a bad ass to be moved ....and think our new team set up gives us the flexibility to do both. As an empathic sensitive I feel the need from the living for help or resolution (depending on the spirit presence) but can balance this with the base qualities of the spirit. Those in need of help I think Angie is the best hope...Those requiring a firmer hand John and I can resolve together.

Obviously this depends on your level of belief...I am more of the opinion that will is the key element but understand that the belief of the spirit in certain religious rituals can also be important.

From my own point of view, the only instances where I've been present to 'witness' this, it was clearly a psychological act to help those 'suffering' at the hands of the alleged trapped souls, nothing more.

What proof is there that mediums actually perform spirit rescue? Are we, that is those blessed with the psychic abilities of a breeze-block, just to take the word of the medium that the spirit has gone? Or for that matter, that the spirit was there in the first place in order to be moved on?

Ah Tony sometimes the breeze block is a good thing for you. How would it be if u walked into a room and lost your logic becUse u were battered by conflicting emotions? I don't professvto say sensitives are always right as emotions and logic are opp sides spectrum but room for both?

That's what I have an issue with. I'm not too keen to take something as being FACT from someone when there is no solid evidence at all, even if I like and trust that person. After saying that, being as psychic as a breeze-block myself I can't say that psychics are not doing exactly what they are claiming to do. NGI are pretty lucky at the moment that their psychics don't throw a strop when they are taken to task and that there is a mutual respect between everyone no matter what their beliefs.
