So what does everybody think of this relatively new piece of kit then?

Anyone who's not familiar with Laser Grids can check them out on YouTube here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Sw35W1y ... re=related

Hhhmm .. clever bit of kit, but .. I can't see how it could "capture" a ghost .. well, maybe I can .. but it would suggest a ghost is something with substance so as to refract the light .. in which case, it is something "physical" .. if so, then that means it should be able to refract all light .. and would therefore show up on a normal camera, even as a haze, thereby, negating the expensive laser equipment .. Clever bit of kit to have tho I'll grant that ..

Well I think they will be bugger all use to investigations and also produce a lot of false data.... on the other hand they look pretty cool are seem pretty cheap if the ones on ebay are anything to go by.

Yeah, cheaper than I thought - but to recreate what they've done, you'd need quite a few .. and would be a bitch to set up!!

Ghost Box's, iPhone apps and Laser Grids. How more pseudoscientific can we get?
Bang goes our reputation for having our feet planted firmly on the ground.

I was thinking about getting one of these earlier last year. I have seen one used with Something Paranormal. I thought I seen something move but I was also convincing myself that the laser beams where just creating my mind to think I saw movement. Carn't really stare too long. Are you getting one for NGI??

I don't know how they are supposed to make 'things' easier to see.

I can see the sense of a strobe light, as it appears to slow movement down. But laser grids......cant see the benefit of them myself.

Wouldn't using a strobe light also mean that there would be a chance of people having epileptic seizures?? Any other team might consider this evidence of demonic possession.

possibility of epileptic fits, I know you cannot stare too long as it makes your eyes go funny. I don't trust them that much, hardley use the infra red torch due to it 'possibly harming eyes if stare too long'

IR light isnt necessarily dangerous to the eye.
Not in a torch anyway. Perhaps in a laser pointer it could be in extreme circumstances as it would be less diffused.

Of course if you held someones eye open and shone the torch in there for a period of time it would cause damage.

IR light is present in our normal daylight, we just cannot see it.
