Are Thermal Imaging Cameras the holy grail of paranormal research groups or a waste of money?

Most teams enjoy purchasing equipment to help them in their investigations into the paranormal. Some items are useless, while others are good at doing what they were designed for, but I think it can be said that not one item of equipment has proved the existence of ghosts etc. So my question is, is an expensive purchase such as a Thermal Imaging Camera really worth it in this field?

Thermal imaging is full of pitfalls, usually from reflections on shiny surfaces.

I cant see how they are of much use, we dont know if a ghost would, if they exist, give off any kind of heat signature.
Just gadget heaven in my oppinion.

Oh, don't get me wrong, if they're giving them away I'll take two, but I just think people would be better off spending their money on something more useful like pens and paper.

Food blenders - thats where you'll find the answers

Nothing but a luxury if you ask me .. Nice to have to show off to the neighbours but from a practical sense, I think, pointless. A lazy mans thermometer ..

I tend to think that the idea of using a TIC only came about because of the lack of video footage of a ghost .. so, start to use a TIC and try and pass off strange blue blobs as ghosts like people used Orbs with Digi Camaras.
