I was flicking through some channels the other night and saw some gumph on one of the channels were somebody was using whats known as a Franks Box ..

Basically, a little small radio that scans through the channels as you're asking questions .. apparently, spooks use it as a means of speaking to people ..

I'll admit, it did seem impressive in the example I saw it on .. But of course, its just a radio and so naturally it will be picking up every station going and then people applying the words they hear to the questions (it did tho "pause" before every "response").

Anyone seen or heard of this - or, used one?

Jay, I will be bringing it along on Friday! To be honest I have mixed feelings about the device myself, I have used it on a few occasions each time producing mixed results. The key to using it correctly is repetition, if you can gather the same answers from your questions, on a number of occasions then just maybe you have a "hit". I will say, it has not always proven to be a success though, we tried it at the Schooner on two occasions each time drawing no real information. There were times it seemed to answer us, then it would just go of on a tangent. My theory is it may be due to multiple entities trying to use the device at once, therefore scrambling the information given, of course I could be wrong all together and it me be a coincidence appearing to be actual spirit communication. On the other hand I had some interesting results at Winters Gibbet and Chillingham Castle, but again I leave this open to debate as I am neither for or against the device in general, lets just say the instrument in it's current capacity, is not going to prove the existence of the afterlife.

Yeah, I've just been talking about it on another thread.

Quote:
We were lucky enough to get a "hit" just before the second break, which was a bonus and generally what the guests attend these nights for.

The "hit" I speak of, came during a session with the "Franks Box", which could have been sheer coincidence or an actual entity willing to communicate with the group. the high level of clear responses we seemed to receive certainly got me thinking. I asked the "entity" if it could communicate openly without using the device, it answered in the affirmative. I asked for a knock on the rear wall - I then proceeded to hear a knock from that wall (as did the rest of the group)
This may have been a complete fluke, or someone messing about outside. so with this in mind I asked again "can you still communicate openly?" Again the response was positive.
I repeated my request, only this time asking for the wall to my right to be knocked - sure enough it happened again. I then took a ten pence piece from my pocket and placed it on the edge of a table, away from the group, I asked the spirit if it could move the coin - unfortunately the coin did not move. However when I continued the franks session, I asked if it had moved the coin - the response was "not yet".
During the course of this session, it would have been impossible for any of the guests to have hoaxed the knocking. Therefore I am able to eliminate that possibility.
Interestingly, the responses from the device during the session were way beyond coincidence, another interesting fact is the groups interpretation of the responses matched my own.

I'll take something away from that session that will hopefully help my progress when experimenting with the device in the future.

Here ya go man!! :D

I heard franks box when it was being used in the drawing room.

Cant say I heard anything from it because all we could hear was the static and the chanel changing.

Yeah that's exactly what it would have sounded like, it's awful at times.
Sometimes when you seem to have a "hit", it sounds slightly more controlled and easier to understand.

I heard a US investigator and radio expert on a podcast taliking baout this. He reckoned there was nothing in it other than bits and pieces that you could buy at Radio Shack... Tandy.
He seemed to think it was just a small radio with a limited band width.
has anyone had any luck with it as I got the impression that it was a bit of a gimmick?
I've not seen one myself, but I think they're available on ebay.

Theres a sound package that you can get if your interested in noise,Ally and Pete have got it, they showed us it,and thier experiment with it at the NEAM last year,it covers alll the main sound waves, and picks them up.My only problem with it was it didnt 'source' them, although I have this problem with a lot of things, I just want it all really hehehe!

From what I remember you could download it free before buying it.
