We are looking for outdoor locations in the North East, with easy access for public transport.

There are only four of us, but due to the level of autism some of the group have, a commercial investigation may not be suitable.

So if anyone knows where I can take them to do some mini invos of thier own, Id really appreciate it.

Also any small indoor ones that are relatively cheap and easy to hire.

I dont know that area well enough to tell you any bekki.

Theres a couple of places near me, but the travelling is more than just nipping up the road LOL

We have a brilliant one just up the road from us, Lillishall Abbey.
Its mostly derelict now but there are still some "rooms" left and most of the walls remain, so you can see how big it was in olde times!

Ive heard reports of screams and things being thrown, but i dont know how reliable that information is!
Ive been there a few times but never at night because to be totally honest, it scares the shit outta me LOL
It really is an imposing place, and due to the history surrounding it, it makes it all the more scary!

The history is basically that all the monks who were there were massacred. They were hunted down and murdered, every last one of them. Brutal deaths.
Alleged screams and battle sounds can be heard at night every now and again.
The sad thing is though because you can just walk to it from the road and its out in the middle of nowhere the local druggies and alchies use it, so that in itself makes it a place not to go after dark!

I sent Claire a long list of locations a while back and there was a lot of outdoor locations on it. I don't have it to hand but Claire may be able to list a few things off it.

Off the top of my head there is 'Winter's Gibbet' at Elsdon, supposedly haunted by the ghost of William Winter and the ghosts of the battlefield at Marston Moor.

If your interested in 7ft tall yeti-like creatures with glowing red eyes, then Bolam lake might be a place for you to check out. See the 'Bolam Lake' thread in the Cryptozoology section of the forum.

Two places always seemingly obverlloked

Marston Moor, Tockwith, York - battle fought there on 2 July 1644...lots of activity reprted in various areas.

Otterburn...just N of Oterburn Village in N'landbattle fought there on 5 August 1388, again lots of reported p[henomena.
