If you were to go on a 'guest investigation', what kind things would you expect/want to take place? How important is it to have a 'medium' with you? Are you interested in participation in Ouija Board or Dowsing sessions? Is the technical side more of interest to you? Would you prefer a more authentic experience of what a real investigation is like, which generally involves just waiting around for something to happen and monitoring the environment? Questions, question, questions.

Well mate I have to say all of the above if i am to make an informed decision on the paranormal i would like as much experience as posible even if nothing happens its still part of the general outlook..
I have used bits of traditional kit on a couple of occassions and the jury is still out on ouija boards and dowsing rods and crystals so anything goes as what dont kill ya makes you stronger

The Jury is still out on all the kit mate.

The only kit we know works is the Mk1 eyeball. And even thats not infallable.

The ONLY thing the kit will do is back up any experiences with measurable data.

Ouija boards, dowsing rods, table tipping, glass divination are all gimmicks. Crystals are impossible to keep still, but it makes a good visual reference when trying to impress people.

Not that I dont or wont use these things, but to me they are totally worthless, even the EMF meters etc, worthless but it allows us to rule out certain things. They never ever will tell us we have a genuine spirit in front of us, well not more than the mk1 eyeball will anyway.

Coming from the non techie side I can honestly say that ouija/ glass divination does give results.... Crystals jury out. Agree with Anth tho that eyeball the best bet overall but each to their own

I know what you are saying, but there is no way to eliminate human intervention. This makes it worthless.
its a matter of how far do you want to go to prove spirits exist.

I KNOW something exists, but i want know what it is.

I think that anything that gives actually results is of interest. It's all boils down to how you interpret these results.

I'm all for recirding data etc, you never know when it may come in usefull.

But table tipping etc, to me is just entertainment.
I'd rather record it than take part. But it would never enter my head to submit it as any kind of proof. Unless the table tipped with no one near it.

It's always interesting to me how table tipping works so well for some groups of people and then not at all for others. It seemed to work like a dream when Jay and Myself sat in on anther teams session last month. I wonder what will happen when we repeat the experiment?

Well I have my theories Dok.
I've never thought much about moving glasses on a table, or a table tipping, why a table? who decided this was a way to communicate?
I have my own crystal, but again I use it for effect rather than for evidence gathering.

The table thing has just been passed down from the Fox Sisters and the dawn of the Spiritualist movement. Tipping is one thing, levitating is another.
