It was great to meet everyone. Under the circumstances I think we all seemed to do a pretty good job.

Trying to find th ebalance between, typical nowt is happening and lets try and make it interesting.

Think dell and I managed it at the end of the night though.

I know other groups seemed to get a lot going on, but personally I felt the venue was very quiet and tame.

Not much in the way of notes, I am sure Dell will let Claire know what was what, but if anyone has any questions for me fire away!

I agree it's sometimes hard to find that line between doing an investigation and keeping the guests entertained. I was all over the shop during the first sessions but managed to pull it round in the end. We were lucky enough to get a "hit" just before the second break, which was a bonus and generally what the guests attend these nights for.

The "hit" I speak of, came during a session with the "Franks Box", which could have been sheer coincidence or an actual entity willing to communicate with the group. the high level of clear responses we seemed to receive certainly got me thinking. I asked the "entity" if it could communicate openly without using the device, it answered in the affirmative. I asked for a knock on the rear wall - I then proceeded to hear a knock from that wall (as did the rest of the group)
This may have been a complete fluke, or someone messing about outside. so with this in mind I asked again "can you still communicate openly?" Again the response was positive.
I repeated my request, only this time asking for the wall to my right to be knocked - sure enough it happened again. I then took a ten pence piece from my pocket and placed it on the edge of a table, away from the group, I asked the spirit if it could move the coin - unfortunately the coin did not move. However when I continued the franks session, I asked if it had moved the coin - the response was "not yet".
During the course of this session, it would have been impossible for any of the guests to have hoaxed the knocking. Therefore I am able to eliminate that possibility.
Interestingly, the responses from the device during the session were way beyond coincidence, another interesting fact is the groups interpretation of the responses matched my own.

I'll take something away from that session that will hopefully help my progress when experimenting with the device in the future.

Triplow, what time did you ask for the coin to be moved?
And which location were you in when you asked?

It was between 11.00 - 11.30, in the Drawing Room - long white room with paintings on the walls (BUAA7210 - I think)

The knocks were heard from the far wall if entered via the BUAA7212 landing and the left hand wall at the far end (assuming I'm still facing the far wall) :?

I think that information is correct, if not I hope you can decipher what you need from what I've typed.

Why do you ask anyway? :D

We tried calling out from the start and got very little.
Richard felix was with us on our first location and Bernie our Medium sensed a Vortex in the room.
Richard used his pendulum and we found it reacted in the area of the vortex and didnt react when outside of this area.

One of the team felt dizzy and headachey for a short while
Think she was called Katie.

One of the ladies captured a "mass" floating on the main staircase, looked like ectoplasm in a way. I checked temperature and it was a balmy 9C and used a torch but could not detect any vapour from my breathe.

In the main drawing room, we met Ian Lawman. everyone complained it was cold, but the room actually was registering as the warmest yet. Ian was complaining bitterly about the cold and I suddenly started to sweat. I was stood to the right of the Big fireplace just near the corner of the art display. I got so warm I had to remove my jacket. It took me a good 10 minutes to cool down again.

We ventured to the ground floor and were worried that nothing much was happening. We went in search of a glass and a pendulum, we got the pendulum and had to make do with a polystyrene cup. We managed to get the cup to twist during "glass" divination in the swamp room, but got the best results with the pendulum.
The pendulumn worked for both Dell and Bernie, but I got a negative result. No movement whatso ever. I used this to desmostrate to the guests how easy it is to make a pendulum move but how wild the arm movement has to be to stop it quickly.
I had a feeling that the spirit of the nanny had taken a dislike to me, so I left the room and waited in the corridor. Dell resumed work with the pendulum and confirmed that the spirit did not want to co-operate with me and had taken an unknown dislike to me.

We ventured to the boardroom (the room with all the boxes) and made contact with a little 7 year old girl who was playing hide and seek with us. We had some tapping and some light flashes. Also bernie saw an old man standing next to the fireplace and the little girls father came intot he room and stood beside me. This corresponded with me feeling a cold spot to my right hand side.

Anth, that's the most positive I've seen you be towards the existence of the afterlife mate. :)

I feel there was something going on that night. I would love to do a private investigation there, as the sheer amount of people on that night made it difficult to define whether real phenomena was being experienced or contamination from else where. I'm looking forward to reviewing our recordings, to see if we have picked up any EVP.

I've got a shed load of voice stuff to listen too.

Might as well start it now.

Oh and I wasnt being positive, I was describing what was going on.
Did I think the place was haunted? No I didnt.

What was your Avatar Anth? I can't remember .. did you have it linked somewhere or had you uploaded it to the server?

I'd seen the last few days that it wasn't being found but didn't know if you'd binned it yourself or not ..

I thought there would have been a few more posts up about this event by now. You slackers!

I sent quite a few notes through to Claire immediately after the event and presume she's still wading through them as I've not heard from her since. Saw her once but she was being typically anti-social buried in texting rather than socialising with mortals.

Just a couple of points really. Interesting about the mention of a 7yr old girl playing hide & seek in the big room with the boxes on the ground floor as two of the mediums/sensitives I had with me both picked up upon and commented about an 8yr old girl doing that. I'd like to know whether they knew each other or there were any previous associations related to this room/account. My group had nothing re the man mentioned.

Whilst conducting "the experiment" my target group had the lights suddenly go ON on them a few seconds after I left them in the dark room. None of the other lights in the corridor or next door room were affected and remained on throughout. Any electricians care to speculate?

[Edited to remove specifics of the experiment undertaken so as not to influence events when it is retried]

Its possible he light switch was not complete disengaged.
The switches were of a modern type so it means it is possible to stop the switch in between on and off.
My guess is that no one actually examined the switch wen the lights came back on?
It would be interesting the next time (if or when) we are there to check what happens in that room when the switch is deliberatly not on or off.

Be as suspicious as you like. All I can tell you is that I have nothing to gain whatever the results are. If you don't trust anyone then you need to take steps to remove that obstacle.
My suspicion is with the group who were in the 'relaxed' (control) room copying or conspiring. If this is repeated I have some recommendations.

1 - [Removed so as not to influence a repeat of this experiment].

2 - The directions to the participants are presented via video (TV or laptop) so that everyone gets exactly the same information depending upon which room they are in.

3 - What is expected is made very clear to all. I was shocked to find that others had simply left their slips laying about the room and one of the rooms did not have everything in place prior to arrival. Fortunately I managed to get there just ahead of my group.

only suspicious of you for this one doc hehehehehehe!!!

'trust' is a funny thing innit....altho thats for another thread

The experiment was an experiment in itself and already,as in most things, a case of trial and error learning and already things have been adapted, as there were several fuck ups in this, which will be removed for the next one!
your suggestions have been noted, although I'm not going to go into it on here, as we'll be doing a 'watertight ' version of this at the next one so dont mention anymore on the forum in detail bout it cheers as we dont want the next guests knowing too much beforehand (if any of them are looking on here!),cheers!!!
