Hunt Ghosts at the castle that gave Newcastle its name and one of Northern Ghost Investigations favoured locations.

Another Most Haunted site - join up with NGI and get to know the spirits who reside in the castle like we do.

You can find more info here :

Will be pretty much the same as Bowes .. start arriving at 9:30 ish .. and we'll get going when everyone gets there (or 10 .. whichever is the sooner!) - don't think they let people in much earlier than that .. think we'll be in from 9 doing our stuff ..

Again, will finish in the 4:30-5:00am range ..

Just to let people know - more than half of the tickets for the Keep have already gone .. so if you want to be there you'd best book up soon ..

Yes, we've been to the Keep a few times over the years .. last time was August, I think .. Its one of my favourites is the Keep .. There are a couple of spooky rooms that I wouldn't want to be left alone in and there isn't many places I can say that about ..

... even the sceptics get things in the Keep that spook them a little ..

Ooooow sounds really good then.

Do you do vigils and such in small groups??
Can you do lone vigils or are you restricted due to health and safety and insurance etc.

The group ive been with before were restricted as to where people could go and we werent allowed to do lone vigils.

We usually split into small groups of 5 or 6 .. the size is usually dictated by the number of people on a particular night and the size of the venue or the number of individual places where activity has been reported.

I'm much the same as you tho - I really prefer heading off myself and as long as people stick to roughly their designated area, then thats fine. For instance, in the Keep there is the Kings Chamber from which there are 3 or 4 rooms and secret corridors leading off .. We might designate that area as 1 location on a night and its up to people if they want to stick together or wander off by themselves into one of the rooms or corridors .. altho we do tend to try and do a little group work together at some point in each location.

Later on, that particular group will then head off to another area - say the Garrison / Chapel and again, either all stick together or spread out as they wish ..

Hi Sue, yeah im a saddo LOL

I do get all excited about these things because to me its one step closer to possibly gaining some evidence!

Im not sure if well ever get real hard core evidence because somewhere out there is a sceptic ready to blow all evidence out of the water, but if by chance someone does manage to capture something that is truely unexplainable then id like to be around when they do LOL

Dont worry im quite well behaved in real life

Well Blubird, its very true what you say, everyone has to find out themselves and unless we're looking we'll never find it, you should enjoy the Keep

Believe it or not us Sceptic are exactly the same looking for Proof either way, but if there wasnt sceptics about each creaky floorboard would be a ghost moving and if there wasnt believers then sceptic maybe wouldnt have other explantions to consider so i guess both believers and sceptic are as important as each other..

Hi Blubird,

I'm the team sceptic as Jay pointed out on the Bowes invest but I enjoy the chance to find that illusive thing that will sway opinion. I've had a few interesting experiences over the years (all my stories are on my own website) but the ultimate one has escaped me - I nearly had it in the Keep too and on camcorder but I blew that moment.

I had some good photos from the Keep, here's a link to my gallery and report from the last NGI invest.:

http://www.hauntedland.co.uk/gallery_keep.php
http://www.hauntedland.co.uk/i_keep.php

I hope to make it again if I can sway the staff to swap their shifts but if not it's a great place.

Lee
