I've never really understood the fascination with Big Cats roaming around the British countryside. You listen to some researchers - they talk about it like its the second coming of Christ or something .. :

"Theres .. wait for it .. BIG Cats roaming the countryside - there as if by magic - They've had a virgin birth and passed through a dimensional vortex and like ghostly phantoms, the roam the countryside accosting wary travellers and biting the heads of Chickens!!!"

What? They haven't just been let lose be irresponsible owners? And what you've said there is a bit poo?

Well, yeah

Its not exactly Bigfoot or Nessie is it?

I just don't get the fascination with it ..

Well I suppose it shouldn't even be classed as cryptozoology (which it often is) as they are basically just misplaced animals. I think the main reason is that it has taken people so long to actually come round to the idea that there are big cats out there, not just tall tales told by simple county folk. Another reason is because there has never been a really good photo of one or an actual body found. I think this will happen soon though.

I prefer Nessie myself too. :D

my dad seen one near alnwick when out shooting, he told the farmer and he thought he was taking the mick, then a few weeks later the farmer spotted one on the farm.

my dads worked with animals all his life, no way he'd mistake anything like that.

This must be the best footage of a 'Big Cat' in Britain that I have see to date.
