We've been saying that for years. 'Believers' are always accused of Cherry Picking (often correctly) but many skeptics seem to think they are immune to it themselves as well as many other psychological issues.

I've believed for a long time that hardcore sceptics have a belief system. Just as any extreme viewpoint is often justified by any of us, so the uber sceptic can be selective in their 'evidence'.

I suppose it shows we're all the same really...either highly advanced beings with an afterlife to die for, or utterly deluded organisms with over active egos...whichever side of the fence we sit..!

Yeah I'd go for utterly deluded organisms with over active egos.
Whilst I believe in the paranormal, I have yet to see any evidence of any ghosties. And until I have seen such evidence I will remain on the more logical side of the thought process.

Me too, it's the only way to be.

If I ever do get the conclusive evidence that I need and have no choice but to be an out and out believer, it's going to feel weird coming across as another 'squeaky floorboader'.

But there probably won't ever BE conclusive evidence .. other than if you choose to interpret as that or in other words - cherry pick it.

well should I say 'Evidence that I conclude to be good enough to make me an out and out believer.'

I'm with you on that.

Even though I've seen some evidence that has been really weird, its not been conclusive, and so as Jay says, I suppose it would have to be cherry picked to make me a believer too.
