One of the 7 principles of my personal belief is "Personal responsibility" if you can't take this while looking into this subject then you really should leave well alone.

To push boundry's you have to take risks and with great risk comes great responsibility.

I love it that they list one of the dangers of investigating the paranormal as 'spider bites!'.

Ahh well spider bites hahaha, you could also list the number 9 bus as a potential danger of investigating the paranormal if you walk out in front of it on a dark night.

It's all pretty relevant some of what's offered in this site tho, something people should bear in mind, ive personally struggled with a discarnate entity in the past as i'm sure some people will remember it floored one person and left me pretty much wrecked for a week.

Another danger is 'Losing your reality' :D
Me thinks he has been doing a bit too much paranormal investigation himself in that case.

By the way, I've got you to thank for that link Anth, I saw it on your site and nearly pissed myself.

Yeah I posted it over on our site.

I found the link from somewhere or other originally but I was shocked at it also.

Why do people come out with this sort of crap. I get really annoyed at what I consider un-professional behaviour, I have high standards and I dont see why others shouldnt have.

I wouldnt dream of writing an article like that. OK its fine to discuss them in an larger article, what could you possibly face from a H&S point of view (Spider bites in the US however are quite common in the US with the brown recluse and the black widow prominent in some states)

If we were to be investigating some battlefield that was open moorland, at certain times of the year we would have to consider the possibility of an Adder bite. Its commone sense but you shouldnt taint common sense with hysteria.

With us we should consider the psychological aspects when considering new team members and or entertaining the public. We dont know how someone will react to what occurs days later and if someone seems of the nervous disposition we should exercise caution.

I have put on hold my invos for a while as I am bad with my nerves again and taking the meds which puts me in a really funny state of mind. So its better I keep away from situations that could make me feel anxious.

Sorry to hear that Anth. Hope your back investigating soon.

I do take your point about the spider bites, but it was using it as a reason to deter paranormal investigation that I found funny. You could say the same about spiders when doing some gardening.

Yeah I guess when you look at the religious antics in the US its understandable why people try and put others off.

Its total crap though. Yes there may be a slight risk to anyone that is open and cannot control it (accepting that this condition does exist). But then it could happen at anytime and anywhere in that case.

Might lick a few lepers if I pass any too.

Some good points about psychology and peoples reactions raised by Anth and its this that needs looking at far more than all the other shite.
Vunerability is something which is very easy to exploit full stop.

Probably because you have or are being influenced or targetted by "Shadow beings" i would suggest you look into the subject a bit further doesn't hurt to be ahead of the game where these entity's are concerned.

Just read this.

I had no idea I was emulating my heroes. I didn't know that Che Gavarra, Bob Marley, Hunter S Thompson, Stan Lee and the Butthole Surfers were ghost hunters.

Did anyone else know this? Weirdly they must be psychic to know who my heroes are, as I haven't told them.

The initial point on the first page is somewhat correct, people need to take care if they're going out and investigating things but then it descends into paranoia and religious bias.

The list of dangers are hilarious, I didn't realise that mechanic bills could ensue from encountering a spiritual entity. Best make sure my wheelbarrow gets a thorough check up next time.

Out of all that nonsense, the only page that remotely makes any real sense is the Blame page, where they say that the makers of the show have a responsibility, but that only goes so far. As mentioned, people should be responsible for themselves and consider their actions before undertaking things that they see on TV.

Its the same old same old. They used to blame Heavy Metal bands for this stuff but were so out of touch with the genre that they all accused the wrong bands. It was never Slayer, Morbid Angel or Deicide that attracted the heat but instead, (and this is based on a pamphlet I was given by a Christian to help me avoid the dangers of Metal, good grief) it was Jimi Hendrix, Kiss and Santana. How utterly out of date was this for something that I was given in the 90's. They were convinced that KISS stood for something idiotic that ended in Satans Slaves (unfortunately I can't remember the rest of it as it was so banal) and obviously with a bit of mucking about you can get the name SATAN out of Santana's name. It's like theological countdown. The fact that his name is Spanish for Saint Anna seemed to have passed them by.
I have no idea what the accusations against Hendrix were, they clearly were just terrified that a black man could be that much of a genius and once he had put his guitar down they probably thought that there'd be a slave uprising.
The whole thing is still born out of the white, conservative politics of the American mid west. These people have been harping on about the Jews taking over the world since the days that the railways being put through the country. They don't seem to have any understanding that there's a whole world out there filled with people with the choice not to agree with them, yet they are always the first people to harp on about their civil liberties and democracy.
If they had a sense of irony they may see themselves in whole different light.
What blows me away is that they can take the near as dammit socialist principles of early Christianity and turn them into such a capitalist and conservative belief system. There's a reason they crucified the guy and it was for the same reason the CIA killed Che Guaevarra. He was dangerous to their political system and people happen to like being able to climb out of poverty.
