Yes it's true, I'm a Eurovision fan. If there's anyone wells on here that is, which country do you fancy this year?

Englebert - now theres a crooner.

Never been a fan other than watching all the joke acts they have on there each year.

What? Hang on? They AREN'T joke acts???

Truthfully, when I did happen across it, I did have the odd chuckle at Terry Wogan taking the piss all the time. But now that camp idiot has taken over, I'll be avoiding.

The reality is tho that Latvian, Austrian, Italian or French ... they ... Suck. Musically speaking.

The biggest stars and bands in the whole history of music are nigh on without exception, British or American. As I said - Nigh On. For every Abba there are 1000 Brit or American bands / singers that are just as big and influential. For whatever reason - even if its just they sing in "English" - its enough.

Every revolution in music .. every genre in music .. every "best group / singer in the world ever" conversation - its all about British / Americans.

So what I can't accept is how the Eurovision song contest can be held and only have British artists win once in a blue moon while every other year its won by a Bavarian Sheep Warbler dressed as a pigeon.

I accept that we're not always the best in there or have the best song - but with the talent we have in this country there is no way we should lose year in year out to some Munchousen Folk Songs sung in D Minor by a man with an extremely big cheesy smile and a fake orange tan.

Maybe but its true tho, isn't it?

Name me the biggest musical influence to come out of Malta thats took the world by storm?

Eurovision = all the shit musicians getting together in the world and voting for themselves to make them feel better and sticking it up the Brits.

It's like the Euro politics - its the slimey French and Germans trying to take over Europe by the backdoor because they haven't been able to beat us at Flanders and Agincourt in the past. So they cream over each others naked bodies and say to one another : "you're great you" .. "no, you're great" .. "pfft .. you are" .. "awwww .. love you .. you're great tho" .. "shucks .. keep the Brits out of it tho"

Euro Politics = Second class world powers wanting a love in by themselves and trying to stick it up the Brits

No difference .. debate over ...

Bollocks Jay. The UK looks to the USA far too much for it's music and films. Europe is far better as far as the goth/dark alternative scene goes.

VIVA LATIVIA!

Ha! Other than those with the makeup the other year (Lordy?) - you don't see much metal / goth going on the Eurovisions do you? They're even shit at screaming and spreading despressing misery .. :) .. All they can do is Hi-de-Hi songs, things that make the Chicken Song look inspired and trying to outdo Cliff Richard.

Viva Latvia? You can't even spell it .. so .. Nil Ponts ..

My favourite Latvia is just a plain old catchy pop tune.

The first semi is on tonight, the second semi is on thurs and then the final (with Englebert) is on Sat. Bring it on.
