Why is it terrifying?

I've never been and to be honest I am bored at thought of going. But I have yet to be scared when on an investigation.

Oh I'll probs get the chance to go, but I still dont see why its so popular with NGI and other groups dont bother with it as much. I guess the same can be said for Chillingham castle too.

I'm currently pestering English Heritage for some info, which for now I am keeping a closely guarded secret *acts all cloak and dagger*

Ha! Its only so popular because it got block booked at one point!!! If we'd done it on a month by month basis then we wouldn't have been half the times we have this year!!

However, through email, I get more requests for invos at The Keep from potential guests than any other location .. so .. it turned out a good thing that it did get block booked the way it did!

too many closely guarded secrets can cause you to trip up on your cloak and fall on your dagger.....

what scares me

Heights and drunks

had some bad run ins with drunks at investigations over the years - even got threatened with a bottle once.

don't like drunks.

Not been threatened by a drunk on an investigation but I have plenty of times in the street. I suppose going out like a do I have to expect it. Goths should get paid danger money I tell ya!

anything just slightly different and it's kill the unalike all over again

long live the individualists - that's my creed

drunks and investigations do not mix well, I rather all be sober. I guess the sober people are more likley to be seriouse about an investigation

Sorry April - didn't tell the whole story.

we were investigating at Middleham Castle (the Custodian at the time knew, was interested and turned a very blind eye) a few years ago.

at about 11.15 we were invaded at the ruin by a bunch of rowdy drunks who were screming, shouting, swearing and drinking...one then marched up said Wot the F you doin ere...

after an explaination of what we were doing there we were told F off this is ours, F loonies commin ere F off.. then he started waving the bottle around.

all good fun (not)

depends on the term drink

one pint (or equivalent) often has the effect of putting people at their ease.....more and well it's a disaster.

personally though - rarely touching alcohol - I find that I open up too much after even one pint - I don't like not being in control...images flash past too fast and the emotions are unblockable - get a couple of pints in me and I'll be in the corner crying with all the hurt in a place..

it's generally a good policy to have no alcohol as the starting point though...
