On the 9th of February, Northern Ghost Investigations found themselves just outside of Thirsk at The Busby Stoop Inn.

We were joined again by Ralph Keeton and Nikki Austwicke from and Ralph happily accepted our invite to be our guest medium for the night.

There has been a bit of a delay with the reports from the night as we've had a bit of problem in getting photgraphs and such of the night sorted out. We still don't have them and so we've decided to put the reports up and add the photo's to them later.

The inn takes its rather odd name from the 18th century owner Thomas Busby and the hangmans gibbet across the road from where Thomas Busbys remains were displayed after he had been hung for the murder of his father-in-law in 1702.

It was said that as Busby was being dragged from the inn with his date with the hangman, he cursed the chair he'd been woken from and said that any who sat on it would suffer a death as quick, sudden and violent as he was about to suffer.

Over the years, strangely, a number of people who had been brave enough to site on the chair met with an untimely deather shortly thereafter. The number of these deaths was so much, that it was decided to remove the chair from the inn and pass it on to the Thirsk Museum where it still exists today.

You can read the reports of the night <a href="
