Well according to Derek's Facebook....

"I will NEVER have anything to do with The Sun newspaper again. This has been a step too far. Not only have they compromised me, but they have caused yet more anguish for a family who in my opinion have suffered enough."

That's what happens when you get into bed with the tabloids. One minute they're praising your powers at cleansing houses from evil djinn and the next they bite you in the arse.

He's definitely gone and put his low hanging orbs in his mouth this time ... albeit, probably saying what most think. Actually, that could be worth a topic : If a medium such as Degsy says "Maddie is dead" and some none medium says the same, why does the medium get it in the neck?

But ..

As you say, I bet when another Djinn comes a calling - he'll be putting himself forward to The Sun to go and persuade the lower vibrational spirit person onto a 12th dimensional bouncy castle .. or whatever.

What I find interesting is how many people are commenting on the story and taking what is written to be 100% truthful. People who would no doubt say that they do not believe everything that is written in the papers.

Now I'm not for one minute defending Derek, but I really don't think he's that stupid to have come out with things as they have been 'reported'. I'm pretty sure the reporter had exactly what kind of a story they wanted and went 'fishing'.

Isn't this more a question of ethical standards in the media? It seems as though because of Derek's showstopping 'abilities' his opinions carry more weight. Whenever I've been approached by someone asking me if I've seen their giraffe I tend to take whatever they say with a pinch of salt. Why should any other opinion be taken any more seriously (especially the opinion of someone who claims - without any quantitative evidence' to have a spirit friend that can jump over to Portugal just to check the online status of a small child)?.

But then again I choose to not read the Sun.

It was only a few weeks ago that The Sun was endorsing Derek's 'Magical Powers' by carting him up north to 'Bust some Ghosts', so surely they should be taking him seriously?

I think you got it right Mark, the tabloid will be your friend one minute, and your enemy the next. Not exactly noted for their consistent moral code, even though they preach from their powerful position quite often.

Still, it is a business and an art dealing with the media, so maybe DA needs a publicist who is more adept at the art.. :?
