A new book highlighting Lincoln as a hub of ghost activity will feature on Channel 4's Paul O'Grady show today.
'The Ghosthunter's Guide to England', written by Rupert Matthews from Grantham, was published this week and contains chronicles of ghost stories and paranormal activity at various locations across the country.[pic1]

While Lincolnshire county is said to have a lot of ghosts, it's the city of Lincoln that was highlighted as "brimming with them".

"From my investigations, Lincolnshire was a place where I found it really easy to find people who had seen ghosts recently and knew exactly what they were wearing and what they looked like", said Rupert.

"But Lincoln was packed...brimming with them and definitely had a lot of activity."

Rupert, who is primarily a historian, started ghosthunting as a hobby but took it more seriously eight years ago.

His new book showcases his findings from over the years.

In the run-up to Halloween the book has generated much media interest including a double-page feature in the Daily Express and today's mention on the Paul O'Grady Show.

Even politicians have joined in with the Halloween fun.

East Midlands MEP, Chris Heaton Harris recently met with Rupert.

He said, "Halloween is the time of year when we all get excited about ghosts, ghouls and other supernatural tales. Whether or not you believe in such things, they make for cracking stories. And one of the most haunted places in Lincolnshire is Lincoln itself!"
