I've been given a bit of a tale which sounds very interesting. Someone I know was told by a pupil of his, about a dark figure that swept passed him and his mate while they were walking inbetween the Bowling Green and Tennis Courts in Albert Park. As it passed by they BOTH saw it, and it then dissolved in front of them someway ahead, before their very eyes. It was during the day, and when the two guys (who by the way are VERY sceptical and believe in nowt) happened to go into the Bowling Green hut soon after this, the girl behind the desk said that she had *just* seen the very same thing in the corridor a few minutes earlier but had thought it was her imagination ........ Apparently, there's also a cabinet in the hut and coins (I think are in a box case) go missing only to return the next day.

So my next question has to be ........ how do we get into the Bowling Green hut and grounds of Albert Park on a night, and will the Council allow NGI access at night :?: It might be worth a look, and as we've done a few little things for Middlesbrough Council in the past, it might give us an advantage

If anyone knows about who to contact regarding the above, either let me know and I can ring (or go down and see them personally) or if anyone else has a "better influence" than me, they could contact Middlesbrough Council on our behalf.

It does sound interesting. Maybe we should go and talk to the women in the hut and get the tale from the horses mouth so to speak.

I live just down the road, so I can pop in and ask around and perhaps get a contact number/email. I'll maybe do that tomorrow.

Anyway, I popped in today but the pavillion was all closed up so nobody around to ask about the sightings. I'll keep wandering by on the way home from work and see if there is anyone around at some point, it may be just a bit too early in the year for them to be in there yet.

Oh definitely, I only live 10 mins down the road and work almost across the road from the park so it's only a short trip in to see if anyone is around, I'll pop by over the weekend and once or twice a week until I find somebody in situ to ask about the sightings.

I'll pop in and see if anyone is in residence tomorrow probably. If you want to give us some details from the book and the title of the book we can look into that as well.

haunted middlesbrough by tina lakin. It's a good read though the section on the albert park ghost isn't to in depth. He was meant to have been the groundskeeper back in the day, his name is colin

I'll have a word with Angie at some point, when she's feeling better about things, and get a trip to Albert Park ourselves. Angie and I can then talk to the girl in the hut about the "dark mysterious figure" ....possibly called Colin  Unless of course Shaun has done so already, and I've missed the thread.

Like you Mark W. I doubt a Colin would scare me too ...... unless of course he metamorphose's into "LATEX MAN" after dark
