If thats a first floor window the camera man must be damned tall thats all I can say.

Its a reflection proven by the fact that the girls left shoulder is extended by the break in the window and the fact the camera iat a wrong angle for it to be a first floor window.

In defense against that theory, it was actually possible to photograph the window and impossible to be a reflection because of the angle; and by the looks of it there are no windows.

So if the claims are correct about the floor being removed, the only other alternatives are a) the image has been manipulated using software or b) it is a real ghost.

Picture of the window and apparent camera position:

The following picture also shows the "girl" as a translucent object but still corresponds with the natural shadows and light sourcing.

I think this could be legit - or a very good hoax. I completely disagree that the image is a reflection or a living person caught in the frame .. :|

I like the pic. I love the sweeping statement that people people make beneath these kind of photos on the Sun site even more.

Sorry guys but there is no way this is legit.

Theres things I find odd.

Why is the girls left shoulder so elongated from her neck?

Why is she standing on a floor thats no longer there yet is not wearing period dress?

Why is the surrounding room so dark yet she is so light? If she was self illuminating she would be lighting the inside of the room.

what was so special about the window that warranted the photographer to take a picture from the loaction and angle he was at?

Its a reflection or a photoedit....if its an edit, by continuing her shoulder after the joint in the window it was extremely poorly done.

FAKE!

It's the angle she's standing at. Her left shoulder appears longer because her body is twisting towards the window.

The castle was built in 1819 and finally closed to the public in 1985: that's quite a few periods to choose from. As for standing on a floor that's no longer there - this is metaphysical phenomena we're taking about.

Well she is standing close to the window which would obviously be the most prominent light source.

That's just splitting hairs, why does anyone take a photo of anything?

I don't think any of the "explanations" given so far completely write this off and I think it's certainly open for debate.

don't get me wrong if it does turn out to be a hoax then fair enough, but comparing the explanations given to the scenario it's not adding up. Therefore, I won't write it off just yet.

:D

No it isnt, look very closely at it, her left shoulder is actually 3 times the size it should be, its not a perspective issue, that is evident on her right shoulder.

It was derelict before then....if i remember the article correctly. Its a fair point though I concede that one.

Yes, she is, however when you look at the image the shadows arent right. The sun, the source of light, would be above her, so where the shadown under her chin? and down her neck?
The photographers flash didnt catch her because by the level of zoom you can tell he was too far away for the flash to have had that much effect.

No it has to be looked at. If I was to take a photograph of my TV whilst it is switched....and lo an behold theres a blurry figure in the TV.....why did I take the picture in the first place? Itsd part of examining the evidence.

Imagine an aircrash investugator assuming a crash was....just one of those things, a whim of the pilot. No they look at WHY it may have crashed, What COULD have gone wrong. Merely assuming the window interested the photographer enough to take a picture from an odd angle rather than straight on is a fatal mistake.

The other mistake is going to the sun with the picture.
If the story was worth the paper it was written on it wouldnt be splashed in the sun.
I'll gladly file this alongside the sports "London bus found on the moon"

I'm wondering if we should get together and make a fakie for the Sun, show people how lazy their "journalists" actually are.
Hey they might even phone us for the "interview"
