... is the ideal ouija board?

I've used several of the shop bought ones all of varying prices and materials and several home made ones of varying types and to be honest all of them seem to have faults....they stick, they slip, they are hard to read in low lighting, the letters can be indistinguishable from one another and just plain hard to read at times cos they are in some poncey writing.....

Serious question what are the best types and why?

I'm not really a fan of them but would like to use a nice one.....

I've never seen one of the "proper" ones move at all .. the homemade types seem to have worked in the past for me, but not the big heavy ones we have access to.

To be honest claire i dont think it matters. If spirit or what ever it is, is gonna come through then surely it wont matter what kind of board you have.
Me and pete have one, youve seen it, and we like that one. I dont know why but we do.

I think for me it depends on what the pocket has in it LOL

I bought mine from some pagen withchcraft site. It looks the bees knees It has a removable glass top, a heavy bas and the numbers and letters can be read easily..
Don't know how well it works cos I only used it once, had a row with the missus cos we blaimed each other for moving the plachette, got scared and put the thing back in the box where it stays.

Well personally I think that if you make it yourself and put a lot of work and effort into it, it also acts as a sort of protection for you. I have a large wooden one, weighs a ton as its a big square of Oak, I hand crafted it and I feel that works really good.

The Planchette seemed to glide over it without any difficultly (it is a weight) The table ,Is solid and quite heavy.
I'm scared of the bloody thing as I have said, but hav'n thought about it properly until now.
