i was just reading in the sunderland echo yesterday they have plans to do up Hylton castle for ghost hunts weddings etc....! i remember playing in them woods when i was a kid :lol: it will probably take them a while to do it cos its pretty derelict at the mo!

Its about time they did something with it .. but wasn't the big idea to do something with it after Time Team had been??? Think they planted a couple of flower beds and that was it .. :D

Them woods be good tho .. We've had a couple of nights wandering through them with a few stories to tell. Mind you tho - anymore than 4 people kinda takes the effect away .. best to wander through in small groups, when there is a mist, on a full moon with .. errmm .. werewolves and vampires hid within the trees .. :shock:

myself and derek took a wonder up thereon tuesday night at about 12..........got him to sit in the chapel, saw green lights all over the place? i just could not bring myself to go any further than the castle door before turning back ,, as when we stood at the door , there were lots of knocks there mmmmwe thought it was water ,,? not as the knocks stopped when we asked??? derek saw more lights round were the lake used to, be... and also discribed a woman in white ? never been before ha

there is a car park just next to it, the gates are normally open, then you can just walk up from there
