his desire and need to uphold and maintain the story, coupled with the story itself (reports, investigation etc) are definately interesting and worthy of attention, however will anything shed light on this or should we just accept the 'facts' as they have been 'presented' (many many times) now (unless new things come to light from this!)........does the world need another book rehashing the same stuff.....have not all 'perspectives' been covered enough times yet........or does the fact that this is a guarenteed 'seller' make it a good enough reason for people to keep reitering the same stuff in slightly different ways etc.

yeah, 'people' themselves are the interesting thing in all of this, as without them who would be able to 'interpret' any phenomenon in the first place...........

Carol and I met some friends of his in Whitby a few months back funnily enough Scubbins!

necromancy?
Bring it on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just saw this. Did your copy of the South Shields Poltergeist arrive yet abaddon? If so, have you started it yet and what do you think?

I haven't read the book as of yet but I WILL order it tonight - I've been meaning to do it for ages!! :D

I've read Darren Ritson's stuff before and to be honest I have no reason to doubt the bloke, or his colleague Micheal Hallowell. I spoke to him on Myspace ages ago and he recommended I read it.

HHmm .. he would!

We happened to see the "film" a few years back at a Preston Hall night .. one instance where the old adage of the book being better than the film is hopefully true!!

The real life footage that Darren and Mike shot at the house of the South Shield Poltergeist .. it wasn't exactly riveting!

Nah, there were some "Interesting" things on it .. errm .. I suppose .. A knifed teddy bear (I blame Christopher Robin), a bottle balancing on its edge (ermm .. still photo), a blobbed-out-to-protect-the-identity screen of someones back getting scratched (so we were told, couldn't see it tho!!) plus a few other things ..

It was the presentation of it tho that gave me the bad vibes .. Darren and Mike were quite excited by it all - but the presentation of the video was terrible and people were just looking at each other thinking "What the fuck is this??" - think even Felix swore while watching it!!

Most of these things appear as photographs in the book.

Put enough water in a plastic bottle and it can be ballanced on its edge.

Hardly supernatural.
Theres a multitude of videos on youtube showing how it can be done.

heres a debunk vid
