.. I know we have a "rate it" with movies .. but I thought I'd start another .. Movies you would totally recommend regardless the genre .. To start us off with 6 :

Highlander
Matrix I
The Changeling
The Haunting (original)
Superstition (if your 12 and want to get scared! doesn't work as you get older!)
Lord of the Rings I, II, III

[REC] - it should be out on DVD soon. Don't let the fact that it's Spanish put you off. It's very well made and scary as hell.

I've just seen a great little movie new to DVD called 'Jack Brooks - Monster Slayer'. It is very funny and fairly bloody. If you like films such as Evil Dead and Bad Taste then you should check this out.

Co written by Iron Maiden's Bruce Dickinson and Julian Doyle who worked on Brazil and Time Bandits. Simon Callow's timid university professor is possessed by the spirit of Aleister Crowley. It's rather far fetched and tongue in cheek but there are some viciously dark bits to highlight Crowley's bestial nature.
