I'm sure I posted sometime last year about this tour and you're probably well aware of it but I think it would be hilarious if the front row were made up of NGI members pre-armed with questions beyond the tedious fan type queries and fools who get a kick out of associating with 'celebs' and learning 'inside/backstage' info. LOL

Darlington Civic Theatre
"Yvette Fielding and the team from Living TVs Most Haunted Live On Stage.

Thurs 4th Feb 7.30pm
£20.50, £22.50 Discounts Available

The Most Haunted Team featuring Karl Beattie and Yvette Fielding have explored some of the spookiest and most infamous locations in the UK, in an attempt to uncover the truth behind tales of restless spirits and mysterious visions.

Now for the first time on stage Yvette and Karl are bringing their supernatural thrill fest to Darlington. The Most Haunted Team of mediums and ghost hunters will reveal purported paranormal activity and stories related to the theatre and an audience member will be selected to assist in some of the activities directly.

Experience the unexplainable!"

Well, put like that how can you resist? LOL
"to uncover the truth"
"purported"
"stories related to the theatre" (Theatre generic rather than only Civic me thinks)
'AN audience member' (WOW!)
"the unexplainable"

Interesting quotes me thinks. Good bit of marketing. ;)

Towards the back of the brochure is this:

"GHOSTS AND SPIRITS OF THE CIVIC THEATRE
It is said that the Civic Theatre is the home to several spirit residents and is rated among the 100 most haunted locations in England.
The theatre can be hired overnight, on a Friday, (programme permitting) from 10pm to 6am.
For further information or to book..."

So it appears that there is no exclusive access agreement - I had been told there was.
Only thinking out loud but it would not be impossible for yours truly and a couple of friends to stage a show covering mind control, mentalism and ESP leading into Psychic and Mediumship areas which ended with a VIP audience remaining for a genuine seance on the stage followed by you lot doing your thing. Realistically talking 2011 for a full professional show.

Sounds more interesting to me than watching Yvette screa, Karl have an unexplained funny turn, Stuart getting angry and Kath making things up.

Oh, I'll be banging the doors down to get a ticket for this!!

Ermm .. maybe .. errm .. not.

:D

Flicking through the channels - I've come across the odd " .. at home with Karl and Yvette" ..

Errm .. Why?

Someimes, people believe their own hype a little too much.

Now I don't doubt that they'll sell out as a lot of people have an interest in them and what they do .. but, sometimes, stuff like this just gets on my nerves.

I totally agree, but I must admit that I would still be interested in going to see what they have to say. Not because I like/respect them or anything, just because I''m interested in how 'the masses' are being 'taught' about ghosties from 'influential TV personalities'

If you can write a show and get it fully organised, promoted and funded for next year go for it and I'll do it. I'm inclined towards a bit more reality with my timeline. :) The Civic is very expensive to hire as a venue so the show would have to be heavily funded or attract a large audience. The idea would work well alongside a full event based around Halloween however...
(ticking sound as my brain starts getting over excited)

I'd be interested to find out what they have to say and the reaction of their audiences but that is what they are relying upon isn't it. Folks curiosity. I seriously doubt they will have anything special to say that any of us don't already know and we are all aware of the various public reactions to such things. If only a couple of quid and no real effort I'd possibly go but when I go out I want to be entertained or gain something out of the experience. No way would I pay to see this presentation from the Most Haunted crowd.

Email me about it.
I'd really like to stage such a show giving people a mix of mentalism, pure entertainment, some light education and a taste of the paranormal. There are not many of us who stand with feet in multiple camps without any need to sway folk in any particular direction so such a presentation could be very eclectic and stimulating.

People flock to see mediumism based shows and similar events. I'm sure there will be the demand for Yvette & Karl too. Not so many know about real mentalism. They may have seen mind magic as performed by magicians but are simply not aware of the huge difference between that and the real thing or it's symbiosis with the paranormal. Heads back to really ancient magick as well as being a modern phenomena.

Staging a full show is not just a case of deciding upon deciding upon what to do, booking a space and then selling tickets. If you want to have a go beware that it could be a massive commitment. Don't want to put you off as i really do want to do this myself, just be certain you realise what you're jumping into. A big theatre production is a lot different to a community or school hall event.
