Pam and Derek moving to Greece put me in mind of a strange experience I had when I was in Greece about eighteen years ago. Greece was in the middle of a heatwave and I had caught a pretty bad case of sunstroke. It was so bad that I kept vomiting every few minutes. My parents and I were sat in a roadside restaurant in a small Grecian village to have some dinner (or rather my parents were as I was feeling too ill).

When the Greek waiter saw my predicament he went out the back and brought out his old mum. She was the archetypal village crone to look at. The mother then fetched a bowl of water, a cloth and a glass. I was instructed to kneel down over the bowl of water. A crowed began to gather around me and I started to feel a bit concerned as to what was going to happen. The old woman then put the cloth over my head and then made some kind of incantation over me (I couldn't really see this as I was under a towel). She then filled up the glass with water and plonked it upside down on top of the towel, trapping the water inside between the towel and my head. After some more 'incantations' I heard the crowed gasp. Apparently the water in the glass appeared to 'boil'. After a few minutes the water was released and I could get up.

I don't know what the old lady did. Maybe it was just having a cold glass of water poured over my head, but I immediately felt 100% better. I wasn't sick again and I was even able to order a meal.

What did you order to eat ? :?

I have had a few experiences in Greece, as well.

I went over to Kavos on a Stag Party, and I decided to have some fun with a girl on the beach. This was back in 1990. Anyway, after we had sat on a boat in the shallow beach waters drinking beer, we got down to the physical part of the evening.

After we had both achieved orgasm, she asked me if I wanted to stay at her apartment ? I said no and decided to sleep on the beach underneath a sun lounger.

The next morning, hearing locals riding their Vespas and noticing that the heat was getting hotter, I awoke to find a stray dog pissing over my legs. That, my ghost hunting friends, was one of my Greek experiences. Getting a golden shower off a dog !

By the way. The above post is total fabrication ! I just thought that I would brighten up a quiet afternoon.

However, I have been to Kavos and bathed in the blistering heat, and it was in 1990.

The orgasm part is true as well, but that was through self stimulation, usually after breakfast each morning. :P

So, my genuine, real Greek experience ? Is that I ate the worst kebab I have ever tasted in Kavos. Yuk !

I no longer eat them, Claire.

Kebabs always gave me the shits the following day.

These days, it's pizza or fish & chips on a Saturday.
