Nice one Ian. A much better looking site than the old one, I look forward to seeing it fill up with content.
Is 'Something Paranormal' still a commercial group then or are you only doing occasional public events?

thanks mark

we still do commercial events but nowhere near as many as before the problem is alot of groups are doing 4 or 5 a month in the same old locations. we have decided to go againsed that route and move them out of the north east but also do maybe only 1 a month

our main focus is something paranormal investigations, we have got a few things to look into at the mo so that should keep us busy for now :D

I think you'll find it a much more rewarding experience to go down this rout. Doing that amount of invos a month in all the usual locations is all well and good if you just want to give people a 'fun' night for a lot of hard work on your part, but if you are serious about investigating the paranormal then you are better off forgetting them. You can't do investigations under those circumstances no matter what people may claim.

Genuine private investigations may not come around all that often, but when they do the are far more interesting. I'm not sure how much experience you guys have got at doing this kind of stuff already, but as you can imagine, this area is absolutely full of pitfalls. My advice, for what it is worth, is don't profess to have all the answers, ask others for advice in any areas where you feel you may be out of your depth, put the glass divination away and cover your backs at all times. I wish you well.

on second thoughts why not just stay on the NGI website as they've nicked most of our content anyway.

first of all all the content you mentioned on email a massive amount was taken from elsewhere so either you have copied it from elsewhere or many people have copied from yourselves.

a small amount was taken from your site directly but the fact that we had multiple links to your site and the fact when the forums where online we had you as a recomended site we thought things should have been ok. fair enough we should of asked.

most of the sites we took information from we had linked on the site in some form or other but its quite difficult when you find the same info word for word on god knows how many sites

Most of the frustration was in not hearing from anyone when we tried contacting you guys.

As you will know theres so much information in the public domain about alleged hauntings of many sites. What was really an issue is one particular report where information given to us (NGI) by the owner was reproduced word for word. It goes to show that no proof reading was done. We only ever wanted acknowledgement as a source of information. But is galling when we have carried out an investigation and comments given to us (NGI) were reproduced elsewhere. I refer to the castle eden in report.

As I said it was never really a massive issue, but after months of trying to track you down to discuss it, I am sure you can understand we got more than a little furstrated.
We even made announcements on FB hoping someone ex members could help us contact you etc etc. All to no avail.

As NGI has been on the go since 2005 it is possible that information has been shared and with us and from us.

Not just the Castle Eden report either Anth. To the best of my knowledge all the reports on the list (over 50 if I remember) were the ones copied word for word from the NGI site. They even include our bad spelling and grammar too!

We sent many polite emails saying that should have been asked before you took the content, but that we were still happy for you to keep it on your site as long as each entry was credited to us. Eventually after weeks of trying, we got a reply from your 'boss' who agreed to our requests. We thought that would be the end of it until no action was actually taken and NGI members were suddenly 'blocked' from his Facebook profile. Not the most mature action in the world I think you will agree.

What is the current sate of play with Something Paranormal now?

Looking at your website in a short space of time you seem to have gone from wanting Nationwide domination, to possible legal action against another team, to a period of inactivity.

i do apologise for not asking your permission but like i said we only actually took a few things from your site the rest from else where. its mad how many word for word copys there is on loads of sites.

i think at the moment me and marc have both lost interest in it since the cancelation of all our events, by an unnamed group things just went down hill. although i still hold a massive grudge with 3 of the members of that group been hoping to bump into em but aint happened yet :(

but like i said i do apologise for what happened

That's ok Ian, I've always enjoyed reading your posts on here. You seem like you've got a decent head on your shoulders and I'm sure you'd get on with NGI as a team too.

I do have to say that even though there are sections of our Haunted UK entries taken from other sources, especially the historic details, all the ones that we listed were in fact compiled from various places and rewritten to a degree by ourselves. I know, I did a lot of them myself and it took ages (which are probably the one's containing all the typos).

I just don't understand why your team ignored our emails and then blocked us?

thanks :) i enjoy reading the posts on here and joining in.

to be honest i think it was more to the fact we already had massive stress from all the shit that happened with us then we got emails from yourselves aswell just added to it (not that im having a go there) although why you were blocked i dont know, i do know marc just blanked everyone for a while he was more gutted than i was about how it all turned out, things were going well for us then the nameless idiots dropped us right in it then one of them had the cheek to phone me up to say i owed him money for the deposits he paid for the events he booked, but then his team cancelled. i was fuming to say the least lol

Makes sense I suppose.

Isn't it always the same when money enters the equation though?
I know tons of teams that have gone the same way.

It's not what this field should be about and don't think it's coincidence that the two longest running teams in the region aren't in the slightest bit interested in guest nights, paranormal tourism and the like.

Now you're back Ian, I hope you'll stick around for some debates, mind you most of it seems to happen on our Facebook group now which is a shame, but it's just how it is now i guess.
