More fine words of intellect, wisdom and wit from my good self to follow, this time the topic is the same as the last but one blog from the verbose and darkly delightful (ouch! And not to mention gorgeously handsome!) 'readers favourite' Mark.
Well ... its almost the same anyway...
Never one to do exactly what I should be doing (yep, we are under 'orders' to do this and the cold steel from the barrel of the loaded gun is 'nacking me gnashers), I'm changing mine slightly, and instead of exciting the pants off you all, as Mark did with his top 5 NGI investigations, I'm going to thrill the crabs from your pubes with my top 5 venues I've been to more than once with NGI, and some ramblings (not drunken, although will probably read better if your suitably 'pissed' ) about why I have found these venues interesting and all that shite.
Wheyhey!!! No need for Durbak - just read on ...
Straight in at number 5 tis The Castle Keep,Newcastle (retch spit!)
Whats so interesting about the Keep?
Ha .... gotta be the queuing for the one and only toilet at 3 in the morning with all the drunken twats I mean passing locals in the sheeting rain and driving wind, cant beat it... who says its grim up north???
That aside, I'm not too sure exactly why I like the Keep, but I do. I had one experience there, down in the Mezzanine, which got me 'wondering' from a slightly different perspective about things and made me re-think a few things regarding my 'approach' to certain incidents, whether experienced by myself or others. And each visit gives me more opportunity to explore this.
Oh, also its made of stone, something damn sexy about stone buildings ...
At number 4 (just beating the Keep!) we have The Tontine
I got told this place was a let down, that there was very little if anything there and before I went I was expecting very little, yet somehow couldn't quite shake the strangely excited feeling I had the first time I went as an invited guest, on a small team only invo with Jay, Pam, Sue and Kris.
And another visit under my belt after that one too ( where Jay saw his 'ghost'), and I'm still as strangely excited to go as I was that cold winters night two years ago.
So whats so exciting?
Fuck knows........but I love this place, the decor, the location, the 'feel' of it, whatever it is...the combination of 'whatever' which gives the synergy that to me is 'The Tontine' is strangely exciting - simple!
I know people are probably expecting answers like the moving trolleyrack, Jays ghost.....or even Pams wanking monk ... but it truth its none of those especially, they just add to the whole exotic mix.
Theres nothing quite like being in the 'piano room' on your own in the dark, looking out over the moonlit Cleveland Hills, with the wind whipping wildy round the stone building.....and sensing that your not quite as alone as you thought ...
Ahem. I did mention 'stone building ' again.
Its not a fetish, just a 'thing' ...
Blasting straight in like a twat out of hell, at number 3 is The Schooner
Ha, as on cue and not following my own rules as usual, I've actually only been here once with NGI, but nevermind, what a 'once' it was!
This was my first time out with NGI as a guest, where I met Mark, Dell and Pam for the first time (Jay I'd met already, for my sins!). Twas a bit tricky to 'locate', Mr 'I know where it is I dont need destructions' Brown sent me into some godforsaken pub in the back of beyond which led to a Slaughtered Lamb type of experience whilst on manouvres, but never mind, not only was it the start of many exciting (cough) times with NGI, it was also the start of many godforsaken outings with The Routefinder General himself ( roll on KIT eh Jay?!)
I experienced several things here which gave me empathy for mediums and sensitive's, because whatever it was causing me to experience them .... be it real, imagined, ghostly or psychological I did experience 'em all in HD blue ray, 3-d (blah blah blah, all that stuff) and full dazzling stinking, painful, funny as fuck colour! If thats what mediums and sensitive's experience all the time then the world really is a 'fuller' and far stranger place for them than it is for us mere mortals ...
I laughed that much I missed the whole 'dancing wardrobe' incident, despite being in the room when it happened.
Sods law innit......
Apparently I was surrounded by 'orbs' at the time though (knew I should have kept my legs shut - damn cobwebs!)
Only a few weeks now to the long-awaited return.......BRING IT ON!!!!!!!!!!!
Oooooh are you all excited, its number 2 - Darlington Civic Theatre
What else can I say - thank you!!!!!!!!!
You know who you are ( I dont, or even what you are, but XXXXXXXXXXXXX)
Well here it is, the one you've all fallen asleep for,my 'number 1 most interesting place I've investigated more than once with NGI' is ...
The Golden Fleece, York
Controversial, surrounded by half facts and full fictions, with tales of ghostly women, thieving children, murders etc etc etc blah blah blah (some allegedly 'stolen' from another location in York anyway, and not forgetting the shape-shifting demonic elemental), unarguably one of Yorks oldest buildings, and definitely the one place in the landlocked City guarenteed to give you 'seasickness' within its higgledy piggeldy foundationless rooms and stairs, if thats not reason enough why it shouldn't even be on my list in the first place, then the fact that this place goes through more 'ghosthunters' than George Bush does 'civillians' should guarantee it.
So why 'number one'?
Because in all the times I've been here, with NGI and with different groups/individuals, the same things seem to be experienced by lots of different types of people, from different backgrounds and of different beliefs. I have it on good authority that this also extends outwards to other groups and more people, of varying backgrounds and beliefs.
It would never get on my favourite location list for the location itself, it wouldnt get on my favourite ever investigation list. I'm not sure what other list it would get on now I think of it ...
But its number one on this list because there is something at the Fleece which is unexplainable (as yet) ... something which could perhaps be physically caused, psychologically induced, accidently imagined, deliberately 'evoked' or downright faked ... but whatever it is, it takes no prisoners ....and everyone who 'encounters' it are left in no doubt that they have encountered it ... whatever the fuck 'it' is.
As an investigator, I want to solve the mystery of The Golden Fleece ... to separate fact from fiction, legend from fake and discover exactly why the Golden Fleece is reputed to be one of Yorks most haunted buildings ...
And thats the one simple reason why its my number one!
Well there you go, to quote a top wabbit.......fuck off and goodnight!!!
(tis what he said when the cameras weren't on I have that on good authority too)
No doubt I'll be back at some sharp point to delight you all with some other incredibly riveting list of my 'faves' ...
Fuckin ace eh!!!!!!!!!!
