The McOrville Inn is situated in the small village of Elwick - a picturesque little village just on the outskirts of Hartlepool. We knew Darren, the landlord, from an investigation at another inn he used to own - The Castle Eden. Hopefully, the night would throw up a few surprises once we managed to get the singing locals out of the place!

Group walkabout with Darren the landlord:

The McOrville Inn

Just prior to the group walkabout with Darren, Bekki paid a visit to the ladies and as she had been walking out the door, she saw a figure looking as if it was coming in the way she was going out. She stepped aside thinking it was a customer, but then as she refocused my eyes and actually took notice there was nothing there. The figure had been man sized, probably just over 6ft.

During the walkabout Claire felt an 'unease' and had 'strong butterflies' when stood outside stable 2 (the end one next to the parking area/'schoolyard'). On examination Claire noted that the interior of this stable looked pretty empty and imagined it containing a big straw bed. Claire later described the 'butterflies' akin to a 'mild stomach ache' and they were only linked to that one specific area.

Bekki joined Claire in looking in the stable. Claire felt that a male had slept here, and that there was a male with a tall hat sat up in the eaves.

On returning back to the bar area through the pub's side door, Claire saw 'a long strip of something' (just over a 30cm in length). She described it as 'glowing and about the thickness of a normal pencil'. Having first thought that it was a reflection of a bright light source on her eyes, Claire saw that it didn't move when she looked in other directions, so thought it must be something hanging in the air. She went to touch it to see what it was, however she found that she couldnt feel anything, yet it still remained visible to her for a few seconds after this.
Claire asked Mark who was standing next to her what he thought it was but Mark said he didn't see anything. Claire decided that it was probably her eyes after all, although she was still unable to think of a light source that could have caused it. However, 2 minutes later in the bar, Darren said that long strips of light had been seen in the area, which no cause could be found for.

Claire is adamant that this light was not in her eyes because it remained static when she moved her eyes and appeared eternal, which is why she went to touched it. She can't accurately remember the colour but it wasnt white, it was dark but 'glowing'. She does remember at one point on that walk being 'blinded' by someones bright torch, however she recreated these light images from different sources and I couldnt produce the same effect. Each time the images moved as her eyes moved, and didnt remain static.
