Linen Room And Stairs

The Linen room had been reported as one of the areas where most staff had claimed that they didn't like to go. The area consisted of a corridor leading to the door of the linen room and then a set of stairs travelling downwards to an emergency exit at the back of the hotel.

Sadly, we could find no way to turn off the lights in the corridor or linen room, so the resourceful ones amongst us had to use jackets draped over the wall lights to darken the areas.

Group 1 Report : Jay Cath Carol

After a short running around trying to unsuccessfully find a way to shut of the lights in the area, we eventually settled down within the linen room itself.

Space was a little cramped so the 3 guest staff members were huddled under shelves, Jay flat out on the floor and Carol and Cath stood near the doorway, we let things settle down.

After about 10 minutes, Jay reported that he could see shadows in the light that was creeping under the door as though somebody was moving about outside in the corridor. We all strained our ears but couldn't hear anybody and we called out to anybody - living or dead, to make themselves known. There was no response.

Jay continued calling out and at one point claimed that he felt, what he calls, the "heeby jeebies" .. that moment when it feels like someone has just walked 'over your grave'. All the hairs stand up on end and the shivers go up your spine. Almost immediately, Mikey who was contorted under one the linen shelves next to Jay, reported exactly the same sensation. It was though 'something' had passed through the wall, move across where Jay was laying and then moved on to where Mikey was sat.

Jay tried to tempt any spirits present to communicate with us. For a couple of minutes he tried knocking on the wall himself and encouraged any spirit present to do the same - other than one or two clicks and semi-knocks, there wasn't anything of note to report.

Group 2 Report : Andrea Sue Dean Beth Angela

We positioned ourselves in different areas of the corridor and stairs and attempted to call out to any spirit that may have been present. We got no responses whatsoever.

A number of people commented on being cold, but the stairs led down to an exit way where the door was open and probably explained this.

We found this area very quiet and devoid of anything remotely paranormal.

Group 3 Report : Kris Dave

Kris proceeded to walk down the stairs alone. He experienced a pain in his left knee. He claimed that this was not normal and that it wasn't because he was getting old. He went on to explain to the group that he had experienced the same sensation at exactly the same location when he had visited the building on a previous date.

Kris, Dave and one of the guests began to experience headaches. Dave suggested that this maybe a result of the fluorescent lighting used to illuminate the stair well.

Kris called out. One of the guests became quiet emotional, she felt very sad and had felt like there was a weight pressing down on her shoulders. She went on to become very emotional and stated that she was ?a wash with grief?. She was crouched down, and mentioned that she felt like she was kneeling over somebody. Both Chris and the guest felt like the layout of the stairs had been altered in some way. Kris visualized two arms, either pushing or grabbing somebody.

Other than this, we report that nothing that could have been ascertained as paranormal happened in this location.
