Main Bar Area

The main bar area is very deceiving from the outside. It is a very large room. There are large tables and chairs and smaller ones around the bar area. The main part has the bar and an old looking chair next to a fireplace which is used. The old chair is said to be a Replica of a King's chair.

Further along you go down some steps and there is another small bar area with a TV screen and more tables and chairs.

Walkaround With Pam

Pam sensed the name Sgt Albert Glebe he was sitting on the chair next to the fireplace. He belonged to a brigade called "The Black Watch". He was kicked out of the brigade as he messed about with a Young boy and he comes back to apologise.

She also picked up on Royalty, maybe Prince Henry, and a blue boy aged around 25 years old. A huge entourage also follows the prince.

When walking down the steps in the main bar area she feels like it is underground, a cellar. Lots of spirits follow Pam, Dell and Danny upstairs.

Group 1 Report : Danny Andrea Dell Sue

Prior to our Investigation when all the lights were on Danny thought he saw a visible shadow on the stairs but as soon as Danny went over to the stairs the figure moved very fast. This was weird as the lights were all on.

This was our team's 1st Location. We all sat within the main bar area and sat quiet while the atmosphere calmed down. We were joined by Chris our team medium. He sensed there was 3 spirits here. One was a woman called Flo. There was also 2 spirits standing on the stairs the name Philip or Philips was also sensed.

Sue, Dell, Danny and Paul,one of our guests, walked over to see if they could feel anything. Dell felt that the bar area felt very different to the main bar area, like it had a very different atmosphere.

After a few more minutes of calling out it was time for our next Location.

Group 2 Report : Sharon Carl Lesley Kris

Our fourth and final location of the night was in the main bar; here one of the guests felt there was a man on the bench with his legs crossed smoking a pipe.

One of the guests said they heard a distant jingle of a bell. The team and guests all took turns in calling out but once again there was no knocks, bangs or taps.

We found this to be the most quietest of all the locations and picked up on less here than anywhere else.

2nd Bar Area

Adjoining the main bar area is another room where members of the public can enjoy good company and a pint. In this room there is another small bar area with tables and chairs and a large open fireplace.

Further along, accessed through an open doorway in the corner, is a open smaller room with tables and chairs.

Walkaround With Pam

Pam never really picked up very much in this area as she entered other than to say she could sense the energy of spirits passing from here to the main bar area.

Group 1 Report : Danny Andrea Dell Sue

We sat quiet for a little while, and while Danny was using the night vision camera and Sue was taking pictures, Andrea, Dell and the guests tried a Glass divination experiment.

At first the glass moved very slowly, each one of us took our finger of one by one to make sure no one was pushing it which is very easy to do.

At one point, when no one had their finger on the glass Lindsey, one of our guest went to put her finger back onto the glass and we all thought we saw it move before she touched it. We all put our fingers back on and after a few minutes and Dell started to ask some questions.

We managed to make contact with a spirit named Flo, who confirmed her name was Florence, and was this the same spirit whom Chris had picked upon in the main bar. Then we also got the name George.

Andrea and Lindsey felt a cold breeze across their hands. Karen felt her legs and hands were starting to feel very cold. Paul and Louis felt fine, however.

On occassion we could feel the glass shake or vibrate in a way that could not be rationale explained. Come the end of the experiment, we determined that there were a total of 13 spirits in the room but only Flo and George had stepped forward.

After a few more minutes it was time to regroup for the full teams seance.

Group 2 Report : Sharon Carl Lesley Kris

The third location after the seance was the small bar to the left of the entrance to the Old George, here the team settled by the far wall on benches.

Kris kept looking to near the entrance to the small bar where there was a large fireplace. Lesley picked up an old woman who she got the name Martha for, Lesley said the woman seemed to have a bad chest, was quite plump with a scarf around her head.

Kris confirmed that he had the feeling that there was a female spirit in the room but couldn't confirm the name, he said it seems as if she has heavy laboured breathing, he also said he felt she was a plump woman who seemed to be sitting by the fireplace.

The team and guests decided to move to the table by the fireplace with Lesley and some of the guests trying to communicate with the woman with a glass on the table. Kris decided to stay in the area they had just vacated, to try and pick up some more information on the woman Lesley and he had felt, he felt maybe the woman he had picked up on was a cook,

Lesley mentioned she felt the woman might have been a cleaner. No knocks, bangs or taps were heard even during the calling out once again. Carl picked up on the name Jeffery and one of the guests picked up on the name Fredrick.

Function Room

This is quite a sized room that is, as the name suggests, used for private functions and such. Large tables and chairs dominate this room and at one end of the room is a bar.

This room is also used for staff when they come and sit during breaks.

Walkaround With Pam

Pam sensed two men beside the wall. William Slaley killed Francis Richards who was a butcher in this room. Mass of blood on the floor. Slaley was caught months later and hanged. An old man Jack, sits beside the fireplace.

Pam also sensed a peasent revolt. The name Celia Maddison owned the pub in 1794 and she used to sing. "Lofty" stands outside and listens to her singing. Bobbins is the son of Celia.

Group 1 Report : Danny Andrea Dell Sue

After the Seance it was time for us to investigate our next location.

Lindsey and Karen told us that the function room is not a place that they like to be. They dont like coming in here alone.

We decided to try some more glass divination as we had had some good results in our previous location.

We started our glass experiment. We got the name George again, was it the same George from the smaller bar area? We now had a full name for him by asking questions and going through the Alphabet.

Dell asked questions. We now had the name George Credy, he lived in Newcastle and worked as a blacksmith. He died within the area of The Old George - perhaps he was a blacksmith connected to a coaching inn? We also discovered that at some point in his life worked in Darlington. The Year 1891 seemed to be important.

Karen asked some questions and so did Lindsey and Paul. Some of the staff claimed to have seen this man in and around the bar area. He said he liked to be here and watched the staff. He said he also liked to drink here in the years that he was alive. And still does.

Andrea thought she heard a knock coming from the back of the room near the curtain. Sue also claimed that she could sense that there was someone near the curtain at the back of the room, we asked and the glass moved for yes.

We continued to ask more questions and Danny and Sue went into the corridor and done their own small vigil there.

Danny sat at one end of the corridor and Sue at the other. Sue sensed a man standing in the middle of the corridor facing Sue. He was tall and had blonde hair and was wearing light clothing.

Danny walked towards where Sue could see the figure and Danny claimed that the area felt very cold at that point. It felt very different to the rest of the corridor.

Group 2 Report : Sharon Carl Lesley Kris

We arrived at our first location, which was the function room on the first floor.

After settling ourselves down and getting used to the atmosphere Carl started to call out. One of the guest thought they saw the curtains, to the rear of the room, move but nothing else happened.

Lesley decided it was time to try to use a glass on the table by where the curtains were seen to move, a couple of the guest joined in, after a few attempts the glass was felt to slightly move, we also felt it vibrating and after a while we noticed that it had definitely moved from the centre of the table. During this time Kris picked up on the name George, Carl picked up on the name Fredrick two guests picked up on the name Mary and Albert.

At this point our team medium Chris came into the room and confirmed that there was two spirits in the room one male and the other female. After a while Kris decided to use the pendulum and see if he could get any reaction, the pendulum answered yes when he asked if there were any spirits present in the room but after that he started to get maybe answers so he decided that the spirits didn't want to communicate via the pendulum.

Carl and Lesley took some pictures during our time in this location with their digital cameras and did capture a couple of orbs on camera. Time to move on to the second location.

The Attic

The Attic is everything you would expect an attic to look like. Once you walk up the stairs within the attic, the darkness hit you immediately and you were unable to see your hand in front of your face .

As you would expect, there were pipes, cables, insulation and junk all round the attic and of course it was extremely dusty.

Walkaround With Pam

As Pam entered the attic she immediately felt her hair been touched by a spirit she sense was called William.

She was also pushed on leaving the attic and she claimed that people would feel uneasy in the attic and would not stay in here for long.

Group 1 Report : Danny Andrea Dell Sue

Danny and Sue then went up to the attic and sat there for a little while.

Sue couldnt stay there for very long she felt quite uneasy and left. Eventually Sue returned and then Lindsey went up to join Danny who was feeling fine up there but she felt the same and reported the same that Sue had experienced.

Dell, Andrea and the other guests joined them in the attic but all these others felt ok and it seemed that only Sue and Lindsey experienced anything uncomfortable. Other than that, we never picked up on anything in the attic.

Group 2 Report : Sharon Carl Lesley Kris

The second location was the attic, Carl and Lesley had been up earlier and caught orbs in one part of the attic but not the other, so Kris, Sharon and Lesley took 3 guests to that area, and Carl took the other 3 guests to the other end of the attic.

After a couple of minutes of being in the far end of the attic, upon entering a room at the end of the attic Kris felt that the room was related to Mary in someway.

Kris started to feel sick so he moved out of the end room and stood in the doorway. Whilst stood in the doorway Kris felt the wood walkway beneath him vibrate as if some one was walking up behind him so he turned thinking it was Carl with the other 3 guests and found no one there. Carl and the other guests were still at the other end of the attic.

Sharon commented that she felt hot and sweaty and also sick. Upon moving away from one end of the attic heading towards the stairs one of the guests asked if children might have been in the attic at one time or another, he was asked why he had said this he replied that he just had the feeling that children had used the attic at one point in time.

A name picked up in the attic was Solomon. We called out at various times asking for knocks, bangs and taps but unfortunately heard nothing.
