NGI

The Cooperage is a large historical timber framed Newcastle pub dating to the 14th century. Previously it had been used as a Coopers workshop (hence the name) and supplied many of the barrels used in the cites other pubs in the 18th century.

Ground Floor

This is the main reception bar as you walk into the main entrance of the Cooperage. A normal looking bar area, quaint and cosy. There are candles lit on the window sill which gives it a cosy and tranquil feel to it. Small tables and chairs and stools.

There is also a doorway where you walk through and find yourself in another room which is called "The Cooper Club" There are larger tables in here and chairs and staff can walk straight to the bar from this room. There are double doors also which leads to the upper levels.

Walkaround With Pam

Pam sensed working in here but nothing to do with bar work. Hard working.

A lot of coming and going's. She sensed also that staff who worked in this bar area would maybe see glasses moving or if they left for a few minutes then came back a glass would of moved.

Within The Cooper Club, Pam sensed that men only within this room, Drinking, smoking and also she could smell tobacco and taste it as if the men were chewing it and not smoking it. Some sort of meeting place for these men to get together. Pam said that figures would be seen in the mirror like shadows.

Group 1 Report : Bruce Andrea Joan Holly Adam Jonathan

We started our nights vigil in on the ground floor. We were all seated in the coopers room. We waited a few minutes to let everything settle. Jonathan and Adam told us a few stories about the area we were in. We were then joined by Pam NGI's Sensitive. We called out and pam said she could feel someone next to her. Andrea thought she could see a few white flashes in the main bar area and she hoped she had caught them on the night vision cam.

We continued to call out but it was very quiet so we decided to go into the main bar area and try some glass divination.

As soon as we started this experiment we all heard a noise coming from behind the bar. Pam sensed the name Jack. The glass started moving around the table quite fast and one by one we took our fingers off and it continued to move. After a few more minutes the glass fell over.

We all heard a noise and all confirmed it was a whistle but it was coming from behind us (the bar), we then heard a tapping noise. After a few more minutes it was time to regroup with the other team's and we were going to have our Group Seance on the upper floor.

Group 2 Report : Kris Sue Lesley

Sue and Kris headed down to the main bar on the bottom floor, (others headed upstairs for another s?ance). Sue took a few photo?s whilst Kris started dowsing, he got Jacob again with the pendulum, he asked questions the results were Jacob wanted to be liked by others and wasn't. Kris soon ended the contact due to Jacob messing around.

We didn't get anything else while on the bottom floor.

Middle Level

This room looks like the older part of the Building. It has all the original Beams above on the ceilings and the walls have stone cladding which gave it an authenticlook. There are heavy tables with chairs andmirrors around the room.

There is also a small bar area in the corner. At the bottom of the room you can look out of the small window's and see the night life and quayside of Newcastle.

Contained within the room was a small doorway which led to a smaller room where the walls were painted red. Only a few small tables and stools furnished this room.

Walkaround With Pam

A business man was sensed by Pam and the name Harold Clarke but who would get called Harry. Also a man who painted for a living, a local man who painted a bridge near by, Pam sensed the date 1890-1892.

She sensed a big man maybe 6 foot 4 ish, Broad Geordie accent. He was greedy with money. Pam also said that in here people would hear chairs been moved. Andrea then told Pam and Dave what she had heard earlier that night, the noise of a chair moving.

In the smaller adjoining room, Pam sensed a little girl who was about 5 or 6 her surname was Rose.

Her father was called Thomas, Pam said they died of consumption, something to do with the Lungs.

There were three families living in the building. She gets the feeling of something slipping down.

She gets the name Jacob Harvey who could be the big man who was 6 foot 4. Pam said in most of the locations people would hear whistling of some sort even when no one else would be about. Footsteps would be heard, quick footsteps like running.

Group 1 Report : Bruce Andrea Joan Holly Adam Jonathan

At our last location most people wanted to go back to the upper floor and try a seance at the top of the rafters. But Andrea and Joan stayed in the middle level bar area and was joined by Linda.

It was very quiet here. Linda all of a sudden felt very cold and Joan confirmed that she felt cold as well which seemed to be coming from behind them. We heard a few creaks but nothing else,. it was very quiet. Other than that we found this location to be fairly quiet and as it was now 4.30am we called it a night.

Group 2 Report : Kris Sue Lesley

The middle room consisted of two rooms, a small red room and the bar area.

Time was mainly spent in the bar area as this was where the group felt more comfortable.

Sue asked if the guest would like to use a glass on the table they all eagerly agreed, Lesley started calling out asking for Jacob who had been picked up on the s?ance by Pam, there was slight glass movement but unfortunately nothing spectacular, the group also asked for a Mary who Sue had picked up on, one of the guests also said they had been thinking of the same name.

After a while Sue decided to use the pendulum to see if she could get any results from it. She started to ask if Mary was in the room, the pendulum said yes, there were a few other questions asked by other members of the team and the guests which all got positive results then after a while the pendulum started to give negative results.

Kris asked if Jacob was around, the pendulum said yes, after a couple of other yes andno answers the group decided that Jacob was playing with them and didn?t really want to be helpful at all. One of the guests also had a try with the pendulum and was also getting yes/no answers from Jacob, the guest asked for a response from Mary but unfortunately there was no response. At that point it was time to move on to the next location.

Upper Level

The upper level was split into three distinct parts : The dance area, the seating area and the bar area.

The dance area was a good size. There was a hole above which leads to the attic of The Cooperage with old beam rafters. A set of ladders were available which could be climbed up.

The seating area was a fairly large area also with plenty of seats and tables available. A doorway led through to the bar area.

There was a large bar area here with a lot of space in the middle, however, there was no seating area here. There was also a set of stairs which you could take to get back down to the lower levels or you can go back through to the dance floor room and walk back down to the lower levels that way which is the way we used.

Walkaround With Pam

Pam said that Jacob was to be found mainly in the dance area and specifically up on the rafters. She said he is not to happy that we are here. She sensed that a lot of cold breezes would be felt here and shadows seen.

Again, sensing the presence of Jacob within the seating area and the bar area, Pam claimed that more shadows would be seen in here and also once more the sounds of footsteps.

Group 1 Report : Bruce Andrea Joan Holly Adam Jonathan

This was our 2nd location and a few members of our team went to sit in the hallways and the tolits while Andrea, Bruce and Joan stayed in the same place where we had the seance. After a short while, Bruce then went to sit in the seating area by himself.

We Were joined by Pam and we tried to make contact with the man called Jacob. Andrea and Pam could hear a knocking noise at the top where the rafters are. Joan started to feel very cold especially behind her, Andrea then confirmed that it seemed to become very cold.

Pam confirmed that she could see a shadow which had walked behind us. Joan continued to feel cold. Bruce was calling out in the other room and shouted through that he was feeling very cold at the same time as we did. We could also hear some rustling noises coming from the rafters. Bruce then re joined us. We sat for a few more minutes before going to out next location.

Andrea thought she would stay alone in this location for a few minutes while we had a spare few minutes before going to our final location. After a few minutes she heard a knock coming from the Rafters. And again it became before very cold. She stayed there for another few minutes then re-joined our team for our final location.

Group 2 Report : Kris Sue Lesley

Our first location of the night was the top floor and the attic (reached by ladder), this we felt being the most active part during the pre-visit, prior to our night?s investigation.

We had been informed previously about wires being pulled out of the back of the TV?s etc in this area which was impossible for any-one to reach due to their position, this did have the manager and owner confused about how that could happen and who by? With us being there, we tried to find out.

We got ourselves comfortable and settled down, Sue took some photos, we picked up a few orbs on the pictures. Most of us heard small tapping noises coming from the dark corner, Kris went to investigate what the taps could be, but we couldn't find anything to put it down to.

Sue then started to call out, asking any spirit people to make themselves known to us, some of us felt a cold breeze, Kris and one of our guests started to feel very sickly at the same time. ? But we didn't get anything impressive in the attic room.

We moved on (still in the attic area and above the dance floor). Kris and a few guests went over to the far end as noises and movement had been heard and seen by all of us. Sue said there was a man standing next to Kris, Kris then said yes I do feel cold down one side, he also felt that he saw movement in the area but was unable to see what it was. Sue didn't get a name for the man, he was just stood there watching, Sue then took a picture and there was an orb next to Kris where the man stood. - Time up!
