Manhattans Bar stands at the top end of Stockton-On-Tees high street and is a public house that has changed it's name a number of times over recent years. It has been known as Number Nines and then Fitzgeralds before taking on its current name in the Summer of 2005.

Bedroom Area
There were three rooms situated to the right of the stairwell. Firstly, a large living room with an adjoining kitchen. The room was unfurnished (barring an out of place wardrobe in the kitchen area).
Next to the lounge was a child's bedroom which contained a chest of draws and bunk beds - the wall paper was pealing from the walls. Next to this was what we described as the master bedroom, a large room where again, the wallpaper was pealing and plaster was falling from the walls and roof - this room was furnished with two large sets of wardrobes.
There was also a small room filled with rubbish and junk that was strewn across the floor - this room was pitch black as it had no window to the outside.
Walkaround With Pam
The Lounge
Pam walked into the Lounge and sensed the Name Michael Stratton whom she had sensed on a Previous Investigation to Manhattans in the year 2006. He is about 35/36 years old. The year she sensed with him was 1950's.
Bruce thought that the room has suddenly became very cold Andrea confirmed that she too thought that the temperature had dropped and it had from 19.7oc to 17.1oc. Pam felt her hair been touched.
We went to go into the main bedroom but Pam stopped in her tracks and felt she needed to go into the smaller bedroom first as she heard crying or a moaning.
Bunk Bed Room
Pam felt very uneasy in this room. Pam sensed Children in this room. She felt there was something negative here.
We decided to call out while we were in this room. Pam asked for a knock or rap and in answer to her question Bruce, Andrea and Pam all heard a knocking coming from the corner of the room. Dave didn't hear anything.
Andrea thought that a corner of the room seemed to becoming very dark compared to the other corners of the room. Pam sensed a little girl called Molly and she was running around. Pam said that people in this location would maybe feel like they were been tugged or pulled at. We all then heard what can only be described as a moan or grunt.
Main Bedroom
We next went into the main bedroom. Pam stood at the doorway and found it hard to go in at first but eventually she went in ok. She sensed a man and woman in here, they were fighting. Something wasn't quite right.
Group 1 Report : Jay Kris Ralph Christine
We spent the majority of our time in this location within the bunk bed room after Ralph felt drawn to this room.
Numerous times each of us reported that we could hear breathing or moaning from outside the room in the hallway. Each time we checked there was nobody present and each time someone went into the hallway the moaning stopped. Only when we were all in the bunk room could we hear moaning and groaning from the hall outside.
Ralph said that he felt that a spirit was telling him about a dog that was missing. He kept getting told repeatedly to find the dog. On the wall behind where Kris was stood there was a picture of a dog that some child and pinned onto the wall and we didn't know whether this was the dog that Ralph was being told about.
Kris started to feel unwell and took to the lower bunk bed as he had began to feel dizzy and nauseous and said he was starting to feel strong emotions from the room.
It was while Kris was seated that Jay, whilst poking around in some of the rubbish in the room came across a photograph of another dog to the one pinned on the wall that Ralph immediately said was the dog he was being told about. We pinned the photo to the wall next to the original photograph and Ralph then said he was getting calming and happy thoughts now.
Group 2 Report : Sue Dell Andrea Danny Val
Val and sue both sensed an old couple in here. Val sensed the names Albert and Mary. He was wearing a flat cap and a white shirt with trousers on and braces. He also wore glasses. She was wearing an old flowery dress.
Sue sensed a old style settee but she felt it was in the lounge room. Val, Sue and Dell all thought they could see a figure in the corner near the wardrobe. The temperature began to drop. Val sensed the child again and the child held vals hand.
We then moved into lounge room. We stood for a few minutes. Andrea felt a bit uneasy in this room. Dell felt like the temp was dropping very fast. Andrea's batteries then died in her temperature and humidity reader. Sue and Val sensed the old couple again in this room. Val sensed flowers on the window sill in green vases with glass handles.
Very old fashioned ones. After a few more minutes of calling out we re joined the whole team in the bar area.

Playboy And Fridge Room
There were 2 rooms situated to the left of the stairwell as you enter the apartment that we dubbed Playboy Room - because of the wallpaper and the Fridge room - as this is all the room contained.
Playboy room was furnished with only a wooden and glass cabinet in one corner of the room, some multi-gym equipment and a couple of old fruit machines. The floor was carpeted but covered in pigeon feathers and poo.
The fridge room contained only a fidge (which was empty) and nothing else. There were no carpets, but there was an emergency door and a barred window.
Walkaround With Pam
The Playboy Room
In this room we thought we could hear bangs and knocking. Pam sensed a man in here called Joseph Blackett. The year 1902 was important. He was 29 years old. He had strangled somebody. But he was caught. He was caught by police down stairs in the bar area. She could sense a lot of men running into the downstairs area and grabbing hold of Joseph and taking him away.
The Police caught him. She also sensed the man Michael again. The Temperture again began to drop in this area.
The Fridge Room
This room again felt very cold and felt like the longer we stood there the more colder it seemed to be getting.
We all heard a knocking coming from the room. We then heard what sounded like a moaning.
Group 1 Report : Jay Kris Ralph Christine
This location was our first location and to be fair was extremely quiet to begin with. Almost nothing to report other than a few instances where we felt we could hear some pool balls which were on the floor knocking together, but we determined that it was probably due to a couple of loose floorboards in the room.
We crouched down and started to use a Ouija Board that we had placed in the room area. We each took turns and called out to whoever and whatever was maybe present in the room and although we got no sliding across the board, the planchette instead started to rotate in a anti-clockwise fashion. It continued to do this until Ralph claimed he had heard a voice in the hallway and we went to investigate.
Although there was no indication that anyone was out in the hallway, when we came back into the room we seemingly walked into a wall of cold air.
Standing around it a loose circle, we could each feel this cold spot that seemed to exist as a column of cold air that stood approximately 6ft from the ground.
Although Ralph couldn't see any spirits in the room he could now sense the presence of a man called Michael.
As we attempted to call out the coloumn of cold air began to move ever so slightly. At first directly towards Ralph who claimed that his nose had gone freezing - Jay confirmed this - and then into the space between where Ralph and Jay were stood. Ralphs entire left hand side went cold and likewise did Jays right hand side.
Eventually the coloumn moved back into the center of where the four of us were stood and then Ralph sensed that there were two children also in the room, yet at a distance as though they were intimidated by the man named Michael or by the four earthbound, living people from NGI. Their presence was also heralded by knocks and bangs within the room.
Group 2 Report : Sue Dell Andrea Danny Val
We stood in the location for a few minutes while everything settled down.
Val felt she had been touched. Andrea and Val both confirmed that the corner looked a lot darker and weird than the other parts of the room.
We decided to try Ouija board. The glass did seem to move a little but not too much so we ended it and tried some more calling out. We then went into the room containing the fridge. We heard some knocks and raps and also Val and Sue felt some coldness breezes behind them.
Dell felt it was getting very cold. This room made you feel like you were been watched.

The Attic
Up a small stairway and through a small hatch was the Attic which was probably not officially an attic as there were signs that it had maybe once been used as living quarters.
There were five small rooms up here, firstly, a room which contained a modern boiler, was pitch black and its floor covered in mattresses. Next to the room was a room that had been completely gutted. There was no wall paper or carpets and a small fireplace that had once been a part of the room and been completely stripped form the room.
The third room on this landing was no more than an extension to the landing - barely large enough swing a cat. Next to this was another room similar to the previous fireplace room that was identical in it's condition - complete with stripped away fireplace.
The final room on this level was another pitch black room where the plaster had fallen from the roof and walls although the floor was clear of anything that prevented you from entering.
All the rooms in the Attic were extremely dusty.
Walkaround With Pam
Pam felt an uneasy feeling up here. She sensed children running about. Pam again felt like she was been touched. She said people would experience this touching and breezes in this area and also downstairs in the lounge areas.
It was also felt that a lot of taps and noises would be heard within the attic from each of the separate rooms here particularly the real dark room that contained the mattress on the floor.
Group 1 Report : Jay Kris Ralph Christine
We went up to the attic after our break and we had procured some children's toys from one of the staff members down stairs to try and tempt the children to come forward.
We each stood in a circle in the really dark room and placed one of the toys on the floor in front of us. The toy, when touched and activated would flash lights and recite a little children's ditty. We tested the toy first to let the children know what it did.
We called out for the children to come forward and asked them to come and play with the toy. After a pause after about 20 seconds, the toy suddenly flashed and said in a childlike electronic voice : "Peek-a-boo .. I can seeeeeeeeee you!"
Naturally everybody jumped out of their skins! Again, we asked for the children to play with the toy and again, after a short while, the same thing happened!
Unfortunately, after a little experimentation, we found that the toy went through its own cycle of phrases over 2 minutes and there was no evidence any spirit was playing with it - but it got the old ticker going for a moment or two, trust me!
However, whilst in this room, Ralph sensed that a woman came forward who he claimed was known as 'Aunty' although he felt as though this woman took more of a role of nanny to the 2 children he could sense. In one moment, Ralph had to go quite defensive and throw up the barriers as he felt that this woman came towards him as though she was trying to enter his body. This is one thing that Ralph strictly forbids unless he feels something can be gained from it and he repelled her.
In another of the rooms, it was claimed by Jay, Christine and Kris that a face could be seen, however, upon further investigation, it appeared to be nothing more than a co-incidental arrangement of the shadows.
However, again in another room, while calling out we did get some evidence of activity. We were calling out for Peter - who Ralph felt was one of the children present - and Jay was tapping on the wall trying to get Peter to copy. On 4 occasions, when Jay knocked twice on the wall and asked for Peter to copy him, from within the attic (not necessarily the small room we were currently occupying) we got a response of 2 knocks.
Finally, as Ralph was calling out, he shouted out : "Peter?" - and from the hallway just outside the room we were in, we all heard a child's voice reply : "What?".
No body else was present in the hallway or close to the stairway leading up to the attic.
Group 2 Report : Sue Dell Andrea Danny Val
Our 1st Location was the attic. In the attic there were a few rooms but one room we could not get access to as there was a large rolled up mattress blocking the entrance. We all chose one of the rooms and stood quiet to let the Area settle.
Danny was using the night vision cam and Andrea was taking some Temperture and EMF readings. The EMF had a reading of 5mg next to Danny then it stopped all of a sudden.
Danny felt something touch his hand. Dell started to call out. Val sensed a child in the room and the child was standing right next to her. Val and sue both thought they could see a figure in the room over from where we were. They both thought it was male.
Val and Sue thought the temp was dropping very fast, the Room temp was now 10.0c it had dropped a lot since the baseline had been taken. Val said it was very warm behind her and in fact it was 16oc. Sue could also feel that it felt much warmer there.
Andrea felt something tug at her hair. And she thought someone was next to the fireplace. Val confirmed that she could see a figure there. We went into the other room where both Sue and Val thought they had seen a figure. We stood for a while and Dell called out. He stopped quick as he had felt a breathe on his face.
Danny jumped back and at the same time Val looked to her right and confirmed to Danny that there was someone standing in between them. It was a man. Sue called out. Sue felt her hair been tugged as well. Val felt she had been pushed or poked.
We then went into another room next to the 1st room we had gone in within the attic. While we stood calling out.
Dell felt very cold and so did Danny. Val thought she saw someone walk across in the hallway. Sue sensed it was a man.
What happened next Andrea found very strange as she is one of the sceptics within the team but the name Beth came to her and the little girl was about 6 years old and had a blue and white dress on which was very long and she had black shoes on with buckles. Val confirmed this as she as well could sense a girl.
Val then sensed a boy as well. We all reported of feeling very cold. Val felt something grab her hand and Danny confirmed at the time Val said this she thought he could see something on the night vision. She sensed one of the children had hold of her hand. We heard a few knocks and bangs but was unsure whether the noises where coming from down stairs to us.
