The Schooner Hotel is situated in Alnmouth, a small village on the coast of Northumberland. The village lies at the mouth of the river Aln and was once a thriving seaport.

Room 17
Room 17 was a standard hotel room consisting of 2 beds - a large double bed and s single. There was a dressing table within the room and a large wardrobe
There was an adjoining bathroom with the room which contained what you would expect and next to this a small preparation area which contained a waist high shelf.
Walkaround With Guest Medium - Fay Wright
The first things that Fay picked up on concerned the dimensions of the room - she felt the wall containing the door into the room had been added later and that the room itself should have been bigger.
Fay also felt that this area of the hotel had once been used as a residential area - possibly for staff members and perhaps in the 1940's time frame.
Eventually she began to pick up on the energy of spirits. She could pick up on a man name George. Although his spirit was not present she felt him quite strongly here. His surname was possibly Harvey. George Harvey.
Fay did then detect a spirit who bore the name Amy Peterson, who possibly worked in the hotel in life. She was a very polite woman who lived off-site - possibly in Curley Street? [EDITOR : There is a Curley Lane in the nearby village of Hipsburn). Amy could be seen by Fay wearing possibly Victorian era maids clothing and that she was possibly in her 60's when she passed.
Amy was telling her that things would 'come through' the back door of the hotel at a time when the hotel possibly bore a different name.
Group 1 Report : Dave Sue Pam Jay Joan Linda
Pam immediately reported a presence in the room upon our entering and she could also feel a coldness across her hands where she was sat, it seemed to affect her a little and she suddenly became upset and she began to cry. She then began to complain about her eyes that they were stinging unnaturally.
We tried to call out to any spirits that may have been present, but other than the occasional and expected background noise we got no immediate response.
Jay reported that his torch light kept dimming and brightening and Linda said her camera began to malfunction - any pictures she was taking came out spoilt with thick lines across the photograph.
Pam now reported being able to see a large black mass in the room that moved slowly from where she was sat towards the bathroom. When Jay stood in the area of its location he reported feeling strange with shivers running up his back and neck.
We set the torch in the area where Pam reported the presence of the mass and called out asking for the torch to be dimmed and although it did dim over time, its possible the batteries were draining.
Group 2 Report : Paul Bruce Mike Rachel Dale Dianne
We entered this room and all sat quiet for 15 minutes. We saw a few strange lights but after investigating we realised it was coming from the landing and other people taking photographs.
We all found the room to be very calm and relaxing and nobody reported anything out of the ordinary.
Group 3 Report : Sharon Karl Kris Andrea
We entered Room 17 and took our places on the beds. Sharon was seated on the chair near the bed, near the door. Andie went into the bathroom by herself. It was very dark and scary. She stood in there for 5 minutes. She felt something go past her but she thought this was just her mind playing tricks as it was cold in there and very dark.
Kris and Carl shouted through to Andie and asked if she had banged the door, as they heard a bang, Andie had heard it too but she thought it was on of them banging the door. So that was very weird.
Andie came out of the bathroom and Carl went in. When Kris shouted to see if he was ok in there, Carl answered but he sounded very different like he was depressed or upset, Carl could not explain why he felt like that.
Kris tried to go in the bathroom but he thought he saw a figure in the bathroom and he also got the feelings of been depressed. We heard lots of clicks and raps coming from the room and at first we thought it was the heating but there was no pattern and it was random and also the noise seemed to be coming from all around the room not just near the radiator.
There was a big tap behind Andie as well and it sounded like it the noise was right behind her.
Group 4 Report : Danny Shiela Denise Michael Georgina Claire
This room tended to be too loud for our group because some of the hotel residents next door were making quite a bit of noise.
We didn't pick any thing up in this room also but as we were taking photos there were a number a light anomalies caught on camera.

Room 17 Corridor
This corridor, running approximate 75 foot in length, ran from 2 glass doors at one end to a the doorway to room 19 at the other end.
Hotel doors to room 16, 17 and 18 were accessible along the corridor and access to the corridor itself could be gained through a small archway which led down 3 steps to a parallel corridor which led to the main stairwell within the hotel.

Fay was unable to give her impression within the corridor, but did report later that the corridor itself seemed quiet to her.
Group 1 Report : Dave Sue Pam Jay Joan Linda
We found this corridor to be extremely quiet. Other than a rhythmic tapping sound which could have been dripping water and a few dark shapes which could be seen through the glass doors (no doubt just somebody walking about), nothing of note was recorded.
Pam and Linda did go and investigate a parallel corridort to the Room 17 corridor and did report a number of cold spots, but overall, this location was devoid of any activity.
The only thing which possibly bordered on activity was when Jay was sure he saw a figure leave the corridor through the small archway. All he saw was a fleeting image of somebodies back and then they were gone. Nobody else present could confirm this and upon investigation, nobody could be seen. It is possible it was a hotel guest, but there was no indication of them being in the corridor before leaving.
Group 2 Report : Paul Bruce Mike Rachel Dale Dianne
We all sat on the corridor outside of room 17 but found nothing out of the ordinary. It was just a corridor in a hotel and could have been in any hotel in the world.
We did try calling out but got no response. An extremely quiet and inactive location.
Group 3 Report : Sharon Karl Kris Andrea
Our teams 1st Location was the Corridor. We all took our places and sat on the carpet with our back against the walls, 2 of us on one side and 2 on the other.
We sat quiet for 15 minutes and noticed some coldness but Kris and Carl realized the breezes where coming from above us where there was a few openings.
After sitting for a while we all heard some small raps or taps, the temp was actually rising now from 21.4c to 25.5c. Also the Emf for no reason gave us a reading of 2.mg. then stopped within a matter of a minute or so.
We started to call out and we felt like we were not alone. There was a number of flashes which we know came from Room 17 where another group was in there. But there was a flash at the end of the hallway which was quite unusual. We sat for a further 15 minutes then moved on to our next Location.
Group 4 Report : Danny Shiela Denise Michael Georgina Claire
Due to hotel residents returning to their hotel rooms and going to bed, we decided to not conduct an investigation in the corridor as we didn't want to be affected by any noise from the hotel rooms, nor make any noise to disturb the guests - so we spent our time in the cellar which the hotel staff opened for us.
This room felt verry active to some and most of the team felt uneasy. Guest medium Fay joined us in this location as she claimed to feel drawn here.
She didn't actually pick up on any spirits but she could physically see a mist forming and then disappearing. To check she were definitely seeing this we closed all doors and cameras off and this misty figure was still there.

Room 28
Room 28 (along with 29 and 30) where situated in their own small little area at the very top of the main staircase of the hotel.
The rooms themselves consisted of two beds, one a double and one a single. There was a large wooden wardrobe and an adjacent bathroom. All the rooms were very similar in design.
Walkaround With Guest Medium - Fay Wright
Fay spoke of the entire area when she did conducted her walkaround in this room and considered Rooms 28, 29, 30 and the small corridor between them as one location.
Imeediately upon entering this area, Fay felt drawn to Room 28. She could pick up on the energy of a lady who had a very strong personality in life. Fay got the impression that this lady was 'in charge' - possibly the head of the staff who had worked in The Schooner previously.
She kept getting the feeling of the lady coming into Room 28 and then coming out to the corridor outside and moving along to the other rooms. She felt that as this spirit moved, sparks of energy would be seen in her wake by people. As Fay moved from room 28 the feeling of this lady faded but was still present, but it seemed she was more associated with room 28.
Fay also picked up on the spirit of Jack who appeared to have something wrong with his eye. Fay described him as being 'a bit creepy' and claimed that he was associated as what she described as 'back door activities' within the hotel. She also got an association with a ship which Jack was linked to with possibly the ships name linked to 'Anne'.
Other than the fading energy that Fay sensed emanating from room 28 - she picked up little in the rooms 29 and 30.
Group 1 Report : Dave Sue Pam Jay Joan Linda
We spent our time in Room 28 sitting on beds calling out and observing the night vision camera that had been set up in here which did pick up on a number of orbs, but of course, these could have just been dust.
Joan and Linda, sitting on the double bed next to each other, both reported a coldness around their lower legs and Pam claimed that a couple of spirits had entered the room and moved towards where they were both sitting. She picked up on a Henry and William and felt that Henry had been responsible for a heineous crime of murder.
We were joined in this location by Sue and Fay who were moving around the hotel and we decided to conduct a small seance in the room.
Fay attempted to convince Jack, who she had picked up on her walkaround, to come and communicate with us but at first he appeared to be reluctant. It was only when Jay began to ask him about his activities at the 'back door' of the hotel that things began to happen. When asked whether Jack was involved in those activities, Fay reported that Jack had told her it was none of our business but when Jay pressed and said he wasn't in trouble 'just make a noise to at least acknowledge it' there was a distinct double tap in the room. When asked for him to confirm that was him, the tapping happened again.
Further instances of the tapping occurred in relation to questions posed to Jack. Fay also reported seeing red sparks of energy in the room, although she admitted she may have been seeing these clairvoyantly.
Group 2 Report : Paul Bruce Mike Rachel Dale Dianne
We again felt that this location was extremely quiet and devoid of any apparent activity. We attempted to call out to any spirits who may have been present and got no response whatsoever, not even a maybe.
We were hoping that something would happen in the next couple of locations.
Group 3 Report : Sharon Karl Kris Andrea
It was time to move onto our next location. As soon as we entered into room 28 we sat on the beds and turned the light off.
We sat quiet for a little while. We felt the bathroom was a bit eerie so we took turns in sitting in there for a little while. Some of us while in the bathroom were overcome with a headache and a few taps were heard.
Then while Sharon and Carl were sitting on one of the beds, Sharon said how her legs and feet felt hot all of a sudden.
Kris went over and took a temperature reading and also the Emf gave a reading of 2.5mg, the Temperature was increasing and within 3-4 minutes the temperature dropped and the Emf Stopped. We found this a bit weird. This room did feel a bit errie.
Group 4 Report : Danny Shiela Denise Michael Georgina Claire
Room 28 seemed quiet at first with not a lot of activity recorded. One of the guests in this group was sensitive to the spirit and some things of note were sensed. A woman being dragged by here hair ? the feeling that she was a victim of domestic violence could be felt.
Some group members didn't feel comfortable in the room and felt very uneasy when sat near the bathroom door. When a couple of the group entered the bathroom they sensed someone touching them and when the rest of the group followed them into the bathroom, there was a dramatic drop in temperature.
Near to the beds the sensation of a man could be felt and a sense that we were not wanted in the room could be felt. Danny felt as if he had been hit round the head ? similar to when you get a severe headache. Whilst this was happening, Fay ? who had joined us - could sense a mist around Dannys legs and then Danny began to report an uncomfortable feeling in his feet.

Room 29
Room 29 (along with 28 and 30) where situated in their own small little area at the very top of the main staircase of the hotel.

We found Room 29 to be extremely quiet activity-wise although there were a few taps in response to requests that were made.
Pam reported that two of the spirits she picked up upon from Room 28 had followed us - William and Henry - and although she tried to hardest to get some communication with them going, they did not respond in a way that was unmistakeably them.
We found that while we were in both Room 29 and Room 30 that there seemed to be a lot of activity outside of the rooms in the corridor linking 28, 29 and 30 - a lot of creaking floorboards could be heard although nobody was present in the corridor when we checked.
Group 2 Report : Paul Bruce Mike Rachel Dale Dianne
Again, we felt that this location was extremely quiet and devoid of any apparent activity. We attempted to call out to any spirits who may have been present and got no response whatsoever, not even a maybe.
We were beginning to think that the rooms on this floor contained no activity at all.
Group 3 Report : Sharon Karl Kris Andrea
Andie had been to the Schooner Hotel last year when NGI came for our very 1st formal investigation. She told Kris, Carl and Sharon about the floor being wet after a vigil but that it wasn't wet when they first started. So Andie was quite apprehensive about this room to start with.
We all sat down on the beds. Again the bath room looked errie so we took turns in spending a bit of time in there on our own. It was very dark in the bathroom but seemed ok just a bit weird.
We heard some knocks on the wall from room 30 and Andie found out later that there had been no one else in that room at the time we had heard the knocks and the door was locked as the keys were downstairs in our base room, so that was very interesting.
There was a chair next to the window so Kris sat in the chair while Carl was in the bathroom with the door shut. Kris started to feel a bit sick and could taste a funny taste in his mouth like iron or blood. Also he started shaking, Andie and Sharon both confirmed that Kris was shaking and it wasn't that cold.
Once Carl came out of the bathroom he sat in the same chair and he experienced the same kind of feelings that Kris had. It was very weird. The next thing what happended was even stranger, the tap had been running before we started our vigil so Kris turned it off and it stopped running.
But after the vigil when we looked into the bathroom Kris and carl noticed that the tap was running again and no one had touched it and also there was a small pool of water in the bath which was not there when we 1st came in and also there was a wet patch on the floor which was not there when we started, Andie thought this was too weird as the same thing had happened the year before.
Group 4 Report : Danny Shiela Denise Michael Georgina Claire
Georgina picked up on a small girl in the corner and a cold blast of air could be felt in the region that Georgina reported on.
Danny felt as he laid on the bed as though someone was pressing down on his chest ? on a previous visit to the Schooner he had reported the same thing,
Danny picked up on a cross and 2 girls and a boy, a young girl in her late teens who had been brought from the sea. Others in the team also picked up on a small girl who had been laid out on the bed ? a priest was also sensed.
Somebody (unknown who said this) also claimed to see as old lady and not long after this she sensed something to do with prostitution (EDITOR: Don't think the old lady was a prostitute!!)had been happening in the room.
Fifteen minutes into the vigil the room temperature dropped again - around the wardrobe the temperature drop was recorded at 5c. Also to go with the temperature drop 2-3 peoples nose`s had started running.

Room 30
Room 30 (along with 28 and 29) where situated in their own small little area at the very top of the main staircase of the hotel.

Out of all the locations we visited, Room 30 was the quietest of them all. There was nothing of interest to report in the room other than a slight sensation from Pam of the two spirits she picked up on in 28 and 29.
Again, we found that while we were in both Room 29 and Room 30 that there seemed to be a lot of activity outside of the rooms in the corridor linking 28, 29 and 30 - a lot of creaking floorboards could be heard although nobody was present in the corridor when we checked.

Once more in Room 30 we experienced nothing that could have been attributed to paranormal activity in the slightest - again, nothing even close.
It appeared to us that the rooms 28, 29 and 30 contained nothing that would suggest they were haunted hotel rooms at all.
Group 3 Report : Sharon Karl Kris Andrea
Andie was a bit nervous going into this location as before when she was conducting the baseline readings she felt very cold within the room and thought it was an errie room. We all sat down.
Carl sat on a chair in the room and started to shake and also he had a headache. The same thing happened to Kris as well. Also Andie thought she could see the lampshade moving on the bedside table but no one had touched it or knocked it. The room became very cold.
Our guest medium, Fay, came into the room with NGI member Sue. She told us she was a bit wary of the feelings she was getting, a man was in the room and he was quite negative. She said she wasn't sure what his connection was to the Schooner but then she mentioned prostitutes and that he used to get the money and also she mentioned children, hurting children, sexually or physically we are not too sure.
She could feel a tightness around her throat. It was very interesing, and she mentioned something to do with dragging bodies, maybe down a hallway near the cellar. Kris thought he saw a dark figure near the bathroom door. After another few minutes in room 30 it was time for our next location.

We didnt really pick any thing up in this room so we sat there quiet and called out but still nothing from the room.
It was felt that maybe 28 and 29 where the rooms where the activity in this part of the Hotel was focused and that room 30 just happened to be nearby.
