Looking for New Members

scooby

NOTE : Thanks for all the replies to this - we are now no longer looking for new members.

Yep, you read that right – we’re casting our net out for the next batch of serious and genuine paranormal investigators to join up and become part of the Northern Ghost Investigations team.

Northern Ghost Investigations are one of the longest established teams in the North East of England and one of the most respected teams to boot - we’ve been on TV and Radio, in newspapers and magazines. Large national organisations such as the National Trust or English Heritage come knocking on our door when they want to know about the spooks bothering their locations which results in us getting into locations no other team gets a sniff at, we work with large charity organisations to help run their events and often work with paranormal … erm .. “celebs” such as Richard Felix and Ian Lawman.

And we’re looking for a few people to help us out. Naturally, numbers fluctuate and we’ve got space at the moment for a few people to come and join us.

But we aren’t looking for just anybody – we get “anybody” offering themselves on a day to day basis who want to join NGI. Here’s what we’re looking for :

NGI Researcher / Investigator

You must love history and looking for and delving into the historical information that’s available for the locations we visit. Pre-investigation, we need the history – “real” history and “paranormal” history - of the location we’re visiting at hand so we know the exacts of what we’re looking for. Post investigation, any information we gather on the investigation we conduct needs to be checked up, for example, names from census records or in historical archives. You must also be keen to get on the phone / email and find potential locations for us to investigate.

NGI Science / Technical Bod / Investigator

Must be adept at science stuff. You know a plug from a screwdriver – that sort of thing. You could work out how to setup a CCTV camera to a laptop, use audio / photo analysis software, video-editing etc. Ideally, you’ll know how all the paranormal gadgets and gizmos work but that part is easy enough to pick up. Basically, anything technical – you’ll be a dab hand at. Scientifically, you’ll understand the need, why and how to apply the Scienctific Method on investigations and how to set up / record experiments correctly – if you’re not sure paranormally the ins and outs, don’t worry – as long as you know the general process.

NGI Investigator

There isn’t any specific need for someone just to come along and make up the numbers – unless you’re something good. We’re always looking for someone who can add to the numbers, but we don’t take any waif or stray on board! As mentioned above, we get offers every week from people – but, if you DO have something different and feel you can offer NGI something good (chocolate usually works – lots of it), then get in touch and we’ll see.

For all the above – you can either be believer or sceptic, black or white, man or woman, tall or short, sane or insane, 1 legged, 2 legged or 3 legged – we don’t really care. As long as its practical and you give us lots of cakes then that’s fine!

You do need to be able to have a laugh though. Oh, and ideally can drive. Plus, sometimes you might have to go out on a school night, so if you’re happy to take a day off once in a while or can make do with 2 hours sleep, then that’s good.

Oh, and we don’t want your next doors neighbours uncles aunty coming along with you either – we will if they meet the above and what we’re looking for, but we know exactly what we want and we can’t really go beyond that at the moment. But don’t worry if it’s just you – we don’t bite and are a comfortable lot to get on with.

Note 1 : Please, no mediums / sensitive’s / Gypsy Rose Lee’s / Spoon Benders / Mystic Megs. We’re full up on them as it stands. If you meet other criteria, then come along – but we’re not specifically looking for any extras at the moment.

Note 2 : I forgot what the second note was.

Note 3 : Other than the odd sausage roll at the events we run, nobody gets paid in this game – we do it for fun.

So if you fancy it – drop us a line at the email address below and tell us who you are and what party tricks you can do. Funnier the better .. Wink

Hey there,

I have a fair bit of experience on investigations (had my own groups for a while however nothing big came of it) I have plenty of experience using the techical side of things IE cameras, audio devices and I'm good with the researching into places. I have been interested in the paranormal all my life and am very open minded. I get on well with people and I am always calm and collected in any situation.

Hello. I've been interested in the paranormal for as long as I can remember and generally take a 'Fortean' attitude to the subject; I neither believe nor disbelieve based on dogmatic prejudices, preferring to take each case as it comes and applying scientific method to it. Unfortunately I don't drive but I can bring a history of 22 years of working in the TV industry (BBC) to your group if that's any use to you. I am technically trained in all broadcast media technology and am an avid amateur photographer. I'm based in Sunderland, 46 years old and currently unemployed - so late nights aren't a problem for me. Drop me a line if you're interested.

NGI would like to say a big thank you to all those people who have requested to be part of the team. The quality of the applicants have been superb. We will be having a meeting to discuss the issue very soon and will be setting up meetings with those that we consider best suited to us.

Any one still wishing to become part of NGI should really join our forum and get to know the team that way.
